  1. Hi All, We are now in the final build up to this, so I thought I'd answer the Q's. As far as the price is concerned Dodgy is right, that's public entry price, and was set by the venue, not us- although we have ensured that MVT card holders get in free! On the Post-war vehicle front, we want all MV owners to feel welcome and part of the event. The displays will be split between several sites, and as far as we are concerned Post-war vehicles are every bit as interesting as WW2 green machines, so don't feel embarressed, and please come along so that we can demonstrate the progression of vehicle development. Lastly, the camping will be in the general display area, similar to many events, and all MV owners will be able to move their vehicles back to this area after public opening hours if they choose to display elsewhere during the day. We are well aware that some people camp in their vehicles, and most of us worry about security if the green machine is left alone. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
  2. Dear All, It has now been confirmed that this prestigious venue will be available for free camping to entrants from Thursday PM, until Monday PM, for those who would like to make a long weekend of it!
  3. January has seen a burst of initial entries for the show, with 30+ vehicles, both wartime and post war, already booked in at this early stage. There was great interest at Stoneleigh, and following the publication of the MVTs 'Green Sheet' within which every member recieved an entry form and press release with show advert we hope to see many more flier returns! Make sure you don't miss it! 8)
  4. Hi Guys, As this is an event for all MV enthuiasts, post war vehicles are more than welcome!
  5. Following the success of last years Dig Out at Dallas Auto Parts, the event is to happen again! Same deal as before... £5 for a pitch to sell your unwanted spares or militaria. £1 entrance to come and buy more unwanted bits (known as bargains!) Limited space under cover- first come first served! Burger van and tea bar, toilet, kit- who needs more than that! Dallas Auto Parts trade counter open all day. So, come on Sunday 30th April to: Dallas Auto Parts, Cold Ash Farm, Hermitage, Nr. Newbury, Berks. Phone Cynth on 01489 580879 for more info. Traders by appointment.[/b]
  6. A weekend of home front WW2 nostelgia, featuring military vehicles, living history, militaria stalls, and period civilian clothed participants and vehicles. Including 1940s dance on the Saturday evening, and drumhead service with veterans and poppy drop on the sunday morning. Historic Exbury House, set in the 200 acre Exbury Gardens (formally the site of WW2 Naval shore base HMS Mastodon) in the beautiful New Forest, have combined with the South Hampshire Area of the MVT to present this show. Facilities for entrants will include on site camping with facilities near beach, free snack lunch, narrow gauge railway ride and entrance to the Rothschild collection within the gardens. Arrival and departure times for entrants are anticipated as from Thursday 1st June (PM) - Monday 5th June (AM), subject to confirmation. For more information or an entry form contact the following: Vehicle Entries- Ross Aylward, aylward62@aylward62.free-online.co.uk. Living History- George Galbraith, Tel: 023 8086 9783 Stalls- Cynthia Jones, 01489 580879 Hopefully the entry form for vehicles will be uploaded to HMVF for you to download and return in the near future. Hope to see you there! ************************************************************* Exbury Flier Right chaps, to print this flier off, click on the above link and when it has opened up then click print in your tool bar or from your menu, works a treat as I have just printed a load off. Cheers Jack.
  7. Hi Guys, I went along to Christmas Leave- it was a great day! Saw the vehicles- one of the jeeps was our Chairmans recent purchase. About 40-50 people there. Lots of interesting uniforms. Shame I didn't spot any HMVFers- it would have been nice to say hello!
  8. Sounds like a good idea, I understand that the Mid-hants group is no more, so there is probably a hole in your area of the world. It is good to have a group. BTW- we prefer to stay in and get dirty- oil, grease, tools, engines...
  9. Hi Guys, Strangely there already is an MV club that meets in Hampshire (or the Southern part of it)! South Hampshire Area, MVT meets on the second Tuesday of the month at Fareham Football club from 8pm. (Although we are currently looking for an alternative meeting place) Why not come along? Regards, Ross
  10. Guys, The dig out went really well- unfortunately for you late comers the bargains went really early! We had just over 40 stalls- nearly all vehicle related- not almost all uniforms like at Malvern. Most of these were actual MV owners with their own spares to sell at realistic prices. 250 punters came through, so it was busy early on. Oddball must have been a late arrival, as I see from his photos that the car park (feild) was much emptier than at its peak. We hope to do another next year.
  11.   Sorry mate, been up there today getting ready, Steve would have a heart attack if we made him do it next weekend! I'm sure the guy will let you know what was there- including GMC softcab mirror arms!
  12. OK guys, Just checked, and there are 30 pre-booked pitches. The weather looks promising (I know, now I've mentioned it, it'll be out the window...) so hopefully some more will come on the day.
  13. I hope it will be a good event, and I understand twenty people have pre-booked pitches, plus those who turn up on the day with a car full of MV treats to sell. Hope to meet as many of you there as possible.
  14. Thanks Guys, We hope it'll bring back the 'good old days' , but it is quite difficult to get an event going, so we'll be glad to see you all there. We thought keeping it simple would be best, as loads of shows these days are too expensive. I'd rather spend my money on kit!
