Hello Tim, Just saw your mail. No sorry no MOD markings on the lamp. It has a brass plate soldered on with the number 31 stamped in it; another plate with the design registration number cast in and "Consecutive number 10144F" stamped in. And of course there is the Lucas Lorilite plate. Nick

Well I came onto the Forum after noticing a photo posted by Great War Truck of a vehicle with Lucas lights. I was searching for Lucas rear lights for my 1902 Toledo steam car--still am--on Google and noticed that he was asking what make the headlights were in his posted photo. I managed to answer the question as I have one of them in the garage! It is a Lucas LoriLite. I had bought it for my steamer as it was period but it is too heavy. So cross Forum interests can produce results where anything to do with vehicles of a particular period are likely to have contemporary fittings that went on a number of types of vehicles, steam or petrol, military or civilian.

In the front row in the middle are a pair of unknown make but with the gas generator integral. Hello Major-General, I noticed your mail over the weekend and the headlights that are in your photo are Lucas Lorilite's. ( lorry light!) I have attached a photo of one that I have in the garage. It is in excellent condition inside and out and I was going to use it on my 1902 steam car as the central light but it is a bit heavy. Have you managed to find any?
