I will also need the to confirm your payment term inother for my bank to make the payment once we finalise on asking price.

I have replied that it's cash only!!

  2. Hi ,

    A bit of a list!

Father: Served on an escort carrier in North Atlantic convoys.

    Uncle: Career soldier.Invaded Italy.

Paternal Grandfather. Career soldier.Did something 'useful' in WW2 but not known what it was.He also served in WW1 and Boer War.

Maternal Grandfather: Home Guard/firewatching in London in WW2.In WW1 he served in the desert.

Distant cousin.Served as Lancaster pilot in RAAF.

Two other distant cousins killed as pilots in Battle of Britain.

Thats why I like MVs but not getting shot at!

  3. In Chris Ould's article 'Buying on a Budget' ,he refers to '........older vehicles coming under greater scrutiny........' I have asked for clarification but does anyone know what he meant?

    Thanks,

  4. HI

All I would suggest is that if you opt for an external contracting type, you 'build up' the corner of the 'L' shaped arm that operates onto the brake pad. This makes the brake come on 'quicker' and makes it easier to adjust. I'm told the brake is then capable of locking the wheels on the move. Otherwise adjustment is quite precarious. Mine caught fire! Hope this helps,

  5. Hi

Mine had rotted tyres so I replaced them with 7.50s so it is a bit 'nose down' behind my Daihatsu. It tows fine with the Nato hitch. I also fitted a trailer board and removed the old lights and panels.

  6. I saw a Merlin powered 6 wheeler in Brighton about 25 years ago. It was in the Speed Trials and was gold coloured with 2 bubble cockpits and twin bus axles at the back.Awesome!

Currently there is a beautiful handbuilt silver roadster doing the local shows. It has a non blown Hurricane engine.

I saw the Rover at Bromley a while back. That sounded good too.

I always wondered if one would fit in a Stolly!?

  7. Hi

Just returned from the wettest Beltring I can remember in 20 years. Hope everyone enjoyed it.

The old chestnut of ' 'they' are checking Reos again', was doing the rounds. Anything in it?

I was thinking of buying one so would appreciate some advice.

As the holder of an 'old' licence I can drive up to 7.5T MAM (Vehicle weight plus maximum load) unless it was made before 1960, when there is no limit.

So if I want to buy a newer one it seems I will need to get it plated to a lower MAM. Has anyone any experience of this please? Some websites offer this as an exercise in paperwork rather than a physical alteration.

I am considering a workshop body and converting to motorhome with appropriate MOT.

    Thanks,

    M

  9. Hi

I wondered if there is a market for 30 and 50 cals made in aluminium.

I know a machinist who is willing to try making these but he needs detailed plans, drawings and photographs so he can cost out the job.

Please can I have thoughts on this and plans etc.

    Martin
