  1. Just posting a few pictures of my K2 Y. It was quite unwell but is only a little bit better these days, apparently being sat out in the open for 40 years does them no good at all!!! Jerry
  2. This is the sight that greeted me when I first set eyes on my Scammell. My initial thoughts were that I should leave well alone, however the more I checked, the more I realised that it was quite complete and hadnt been messed about with. That would all change though as when I bought it, rapid progress was required!! How wrong I was.....
  3. All pictures received thanks Edd and very arty and atmospheric!! Hopefully there are some pics of tank transporters (two balast tractors taken at Kemble 2 years ago) on this post, the final one (blue) is a vehicle I managed to get some spares from, made a note of REME plate, chassis number 4563 and army reg 10YZ66. My vehicle didn't have a REME plate so must have been sold into civy street early after the war? However if that was the case it only gained its first registration in 1953. Can anyone shed light on this.....? Jerry
  4. I finally moved my Pioneer a week last Saturday, first time on the road for forty years. Therfore this was its roadtest and trip to new storage a good test for my ticker (we wont mention the all to brief outing the previous day). I was initially impressed with my gearchanges untill I discovered that it would pull away in top gear as though it was first! I would just like to thank Adrian and Edd, whom I had never met before (dont bring up Friday Adrian). They both turned up as aranged one driving in front and the other behind and escorted me to its newfound home. Both a couple of diamonds and a credit to this site, thany you. Jerry
  5. Looking for suitable desert markings for mine.... Would ideally like to research the army history of it.. Any leads anyone? Jerry
  6. Hello, I have one of the above in a stage of restoration (picture on my profile I hope!!), was almost beyond saving but I wanted a challenge. I would love to find out a bit about its army history if possible. It was given its first civilian registration in 1953 going to the showmen Emmerson and Hazard. Maybe it remained with the army as a unit complete with its' semi trailer (many were converted to balast tractors with huge concrete blocks over the rear wheels, but this one escaped that fate) up until this point. Can anyone help? Civil registration BEC 381 chassis number 4533 Jerry
