The hull number is on top rear edge of hull, not radio shelf. You have to remove the angle iron that secures the canvas roof
to view it, not the small brass plate riveted on, but to one side of it.
Richard
Richard,
Thank-you for that bit of info..........
Think the canvas will be removed tomorrow morn !
-
David,
Thanks for the information but no plate on the lip above the radio shelf !
Will keep looking.......
Have e-mailed Mr Ager at The Daimler Fighting Vehicle website.
Thanks again and all and any info gratefully rec'd

Richard, Adrian,
Thank-you for the replies.
Wasn't sure if Bovington still held the record cards, but will make them my next port of call together with Mr Ager.
Found loads more 'S&J 1943' stamps on the armoured body panels.

After much searching and deliberation I have just purchased a Daimler Dingo Mk11. It was delivered earlier today and must admit I'm like a dog with two tails !
There's a few things to get sorted on the vehicle and then the DVLA registration process to get involved in......
The 'Nomenclature' plate from the side of the chassis is missing so I'm hoping that the forum members can help with any details that are known.
I believe that it was Chris Wilkinson's own vehicle and was rebuilt/restored some ten years or so ago, possibly by a professional vehicle restorer [?]
Looking at the Daimler Scout Car Register, Chris Wilkinson is down as owning [owned] a Dingo, F207077. Post War Registration '25ZS24'. Chassis Number S5246.
The only markings I can find are 'S&J 1943' on the escape hatch and the same on one of the side hatches and '25 24' on the top edge of the front armour, to the left of the Bren opening.
If anyone can help with any of the vehicles history, I would be most appreciative.

Malcolm,
Triumph TRW carbs advertised for sale on the MVT site, in the 'For Sale' section.

Dear Barrie,
No worries I was unaware of the vehicle until I bought it. The brief history I have about the vehicle is that they are based on the original Jeep CJ5 made by American Motors. The KM series was manufactured by Asian Motors in South Korea in the late 1970s for military use.
I think there are a few posts on the forum regarding the jeep.

Monty,
Thank-you, all becomes clear now....

Monty1952,
Please excuse my ignorance, what is a KM414 ?

A spare engine was acquired for the two Clark CA-1's at Duxford as both I understand where seized/damaged, unless a policy change the museum does not as a matter of course run exhibits unlike DAS who have vehicles of their own outside LWH
Please excuse my ignorance .....
DAS = Duxford Aviation Society [?]
LWH = ?

Thank-you everyone for your replies.
Rattlesnakebob....
If you're in the Forest of Dean, this is only 10 miles or so from you, just inside the Welsh border.
The farm it is 'parked' on was well known locally for having quite a few ex MV, worked to death, parked up and abandoned in hedgerows etc. As a youngster I used to play on a carrier on the same farm, this was during the late '60's, unfortunately all now gone for scrap .
Thanks again

I believe the Unimog is 1962/3 ish [?]
I was thinking of perhaps a SEM25 and a GRC9 ?
Your thoughts plse
-
A friend of mine has just purchased an early 1960's Unimog Radio van. The vehicle is reasonably complete, inside and out, except for the actual radios.
Can anyone assist with tyes of radios fitted, GRC9, PRC or latterly SEM 35/25 etc.
Any pictures would be much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation
