I got a few of the drink packs from the rat-packs and also some meals, but no garibaldi biscits to have at tea time :-(

Im starting to really get my head down and sort a good explore....hopefully....a fair mix for all coming.
Assuming we meet up at the usual spot, we can head off on foot and check out some of the Western Heights, before getting on board the beasty!!!
Then off to mainly underground sites, Deep shelters for housing the gun crews, magazines for the shells and plotting rooms for overall control of the gun battery.
Two of the best deep shelters(in my opinion, which counts for sod all. tbf!) are located towards the cliff edge, so will not be accesable with the Rio, so a bit more walking will be encountered.
But other places can be explored at quick notice for those than dont fancy a bit of a march!!
Working on it..TR

im game mate, thanks for informing me about this site, WP :-)

Do we get proper authentic music piped into the rear of the beast whilst we travel around, one would hope so.!!! :-D

That'll be the photograhers breath picked up by the flash. when taking pics underground, usually in the dark i tend to hold my breath as it's ruined a few decent pics, not usually as common when you do a longer exposure.
Also something sinister about the 1st pic, when you zoom in, it looks like the girl on the left has no eyes!! :-o

Sounds like the old dictator has been shot a dawn (in Iraq) thank god the world has been ridden of this terrible man. Actually unsure of the exact details, but he is dead...
-
Yes
PS. Ammendment. I should qualify that. Something is fed in through the top, but it doesn't get split in two.
It becomes joined by a form of fusion possibly? in the apparatus.

Hmmm! Army Barracks, Gurkha... sure you didn't drive into the immigration center :oops2:
Nope, (the immigration centre is in fact a young offenders unit), slighty different location :-D Not a bad guess though SS
-
Richard and myself had a good wander around today, blatantly drove into the dis-used army barracks, hoping to have a look around, but our hopes were dashed by a Gurkha security fellow.
Also had a gander at an mod site  ill pop a couple of pics in the thread a bit later.

Jack,
just remember you have to go to sleep sometime......... :shake:
Revenge is always worse.... :-o
Have you seen a cornered ferret, :schocked:
think of those times when you wake with a crash in the early hours, for no reason in a cold clammy sweat as your eyes and ears search the darkness for a reason. :eek2:
Ferrets love the witching hours, as we hide in gloom... and play...
? ? ?
:offtopic: :yay:

Sir Paul Connor of Brightlingstone and Tunnel Rat owe me!!
Well guys you have set the bug off in me big time lol, went out last weekend to some of the ROC shelters in and around Kent.
Great fun at Hamstreet cutting through brambles, my hands look like I have had a fight with a tom cat!
Also went back to the site at Dover, the battery plotting room and found 2 underground magazines – no 1 and no 2 guns.
Can’t wait till the new year

How many people in total going SPCB, also the canvas might well be off by then so we could be travelling naked in the back. :schocked:

Hiya Rambo1969, as numbers have already reached our maximum permitted exploration group , could i ask you to come on your own or with only one friend. Cheers TR

Where's the RV point this time???? :-)
I think the car park at St.Martins battery would be good, as we will be looking at some of the sites close by and we can have another laugh watching folk trying to get into the DS!! :-D
-
Will it be much the same size holes as last time if so i wont eat after christmas
The next event will again involve some small holes, but what i have in mind should suit just about everyone (hopefully), we will be looking at some of the Napoleonic fortifications as well. Unfortunatley some of it has recently been sealed due to the places being in the media (idiots). But there is still plenty to see so should be another good day.
-
I would prefer 14th so can get Capt calamity (Jack) to come as he was going to come with me!!
Regards Hardyferret
Ahh, maybe we should re-arrange the date then, so as Jack can attend, all in favour say 'Yeeesssh'... :-)
