  1. Hi everyone , over the coming winter I will be rebuilding my dodge T214 engine and will be fitting a new set of piston rings , I need the use of a piston ring file , I am wondering if anyone has one they're not using or where I might find one for sale in the uk ? Thanks

  2. Oh ok , it's only a 12v , it has wing boxes and a side aerial mount and the wiring from the box runs down the drivers side to somewhere behind the rear lights , is it possible it could have had any radio equipment fitted ? Thanks

  4. Hi everyone , i have just brought an ex army defender 110 ! I have been looking on the web and see there is a club called the ex military land rover association and was wondering if its worth joining ? I am already a member of the MVT , so just looking for peoples opinion of EMLRA to see if its worth the cost of joining

  5. Hi gordon , i only have nuts and studs , there are no bolts fitted , from the picture of the cylinder head tightening sequence shown on the vintage power wagons website 3, 6, 10, 11, 17, 19, 21, are supposed to be studs and nuts and the rest look to be bolts , this engine was re built in germany in the 1960,s so they must have been changed then , should i do the nuts up to the torque for bolts ?

  6. The first time we,ve attended this show and all three of us are agreed it was well worth attending , we arrived on friday

lunchtime after loosing netaken to arly all of the brakes on the journey down, we were then taken to a spot where we could

set up camp by a marshal on a quad bike , which we thought was a better idea than just being told to camp over there somewhere , the weather during the days was better than we had expected snd there were lots of public walking around the site , we took our truck around the arena on all three days of the show and it was nice to be able to drive in and out of the dips instead of driving around a flat field , we also watched the mock battle and ageed that it was good to see a battle that did,nt end up in either side winning , i agree with the other posts that it was a shame that some exhibitors and stall holders

went home early but hey poeple do have other commitments and short of putting a 105mm howitzer on the exit untill the show closes i don,t see what else the organisers could have done , although i did,nt meet anyone from on here at the show

the people camped either side of us were friendly and the other exibitors we talked to were friendly , all in all a great show that we,d like to take our vehicle again next year , thankyou and well done to all the people involved in putting it together :):)

  7. Hi everyone , we looking forward to our first visit to the overlord show this year , have just filled in the entry form and will pop it in the post tommorow , have decided to give the overlord show a go this year as we,ve been going to the other show for the passed few years and the turn out is lower every year and the prices still go up , besides there are only so many times you can look around a motor museum , so we,ve decided its time for change , we are looking forward to a new show :-)

  8. we have had the same symptoms with our wc56 , we changed the flexable fuel hoses in the engine bay and its never happened again , we found the fault by running a hose directly from the inlet on the fuel pump into the jerry can on the running board , if you try that and it still plays up you can rule out eveything but the pump , and you could put quality fuel in the can aswell

  9. We popped to the show on saterday on our way to hull and am glad we did , saw some nice vehicles and there were quite a few more stalls there than i,d expected , we even had enough sunshine to enjoy one of the homemade ice creams from the van which kept the missus happy , we enjoyed the time we spent there , thnkyou

  10. Hi , i work for a landrover dealer and i,d advise D3 or rangerover , i know they have their problems but then again so does everything else ! the problem with a sport is the balljoints are always wearing out and the fluid anti-roll bar bushes wear out and makes the front suspension knocks , i,ve driven two toureg,s and they just did,nt feel as sturdy as a landrover and one of them has been back to us twice with auto box problems ! terry
