WIDETRACKS IIRC :-
Unless you are desperate for a original drop tail-gate , you don't want one behind your Lightweight , you need a easy to single man-handle narrowtrack. Get this point wrong and you will regret it , the front jocky wheel is no great help.
They have 7.50 tyres - so you can't use your vehicle spare.
They are more in keeping with TUL/TUM for size and operating era.
They look horrible behind a Lightweight and get in the rough they are too wide to follow through your vehicle tracks.
YUK in most respects - in the main problems getting disc caliper & master cylinder spares.
I asked this question a while back

Now I'm really confused :nut:

Just make enquires first. The trailers towed behind Bedfords are termed as Arrows trailers and Withams have termed these as Arrows widetrack trailers. Thet are much larger and rated at 1 3/4 tons. The Bedford trailers are quite large really and a military landrover with their low powered engines would really struggle to pull 1!
Been to have a look at it, looks exactly the same as a Sankey, just the data plate say's Arrows, rated at 3/4 of a ton

Hi all,
Has anyone got any pictures of a Land rover with SA80's (L85A1) fitted in the weapons racks behind the front seats ?
Secondly does anyone know if this will fit a lightweight ?
Many thanks

Just thought I'd add some new pics of the lightweight

It's great site, I've been a member on there for a couple of years now.
Plenty of ww2 stuff if that floats your boat

Was it Cyprus or Malta, where there were rows of white painted lightweights parked up awaiting the scrap man?
What would it cost to bring a vehicle home from there ?

Not a CCKW, but interesting none the less

Many thanks must go to Royal Ordanance who have just supplied 5 Litres of Matt IRR NATO Green paint in return for a token donation to a local charity.

It's not a Lightweight, it's a 88" seires
Phil

It should have one under the bonnet.
Thanks for clearing that up

It has nothing to do with GS or FFR.
The change point was 1979.
So mine being a 1981 model shouldn't have them ?

Welcome along from south of the border

how late series III as my '83 had one
1981
Phil

Did all series 3 lightweights have the tool boxes fitted in the rear wheel arch and under the bonnet as mine has neither, and I can see no sign of the fixing holes.
Many thanks

Go to your local car paint supplier, I use synthectic satin finsh. Can be thinned with white spirit and I use it straight from the tin.
Been and asked locally but they need a paint mixing code, does anyone know what number I need ?
