While driving up the M23 today going north towards Gatwick Airport,on the other side I saw a low loader with a American half track and could have been a GMC on the back!!!?.Got me thinking have these just been used in the new Brad Pitt tank movie Fury?.

.Testing ServiceIf anyone has ignition components (screened or unscreened) that need testing I can test your ignition coils, rotor arms, capacitors, sparking plugs, HT cable etc. I can measure leakage up to 50 gigohms @ 2.5Kv, inductance up to 200H, voltage up to 20 Kv, capacitance, resistance (also can test charging etc with a DC clampmeter up to 400A without having to break into any wires).
No fee, no catch, not trying to sell you anything, I will have the gear with me so might as well put it to use if someone has a problem or wants to test their spares. I should be there from Sunday pm in Shorland with Ex-Military Land Rover Association (wherever that might be!)
Hi Clive
I have just bought a second hand reconditioned FV432 generator which I would like bring to the show for you to test. I know that you, of course, cannnot carry out a full static test under working condition's; but any test's that prove it is functional would be appreciated.

I have taken some photographs today of the two aerial mounting points on the FV432 MK11,not sure why they want two?.It looks like the large round one has not been used for a long time. Also I know this is probably the wrong thread, only I have a four pin lighting point at the rear and does anybody know if i can still get the correct four pin plug?.

Hi All
I am currently installing a Clansman VRC321 into my FV432.
I have purchased a copy of 'BASIC RADIO, THREE SET, B HARNESS IN TRACKED VEHICLE APC FV432 - TECHNICAL HANDBOOK - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
SUBJECT: INSTALLATION OF UK/VRC 353, UK/VRC 321 AND C42 NO 3 WITH BID 150'
According to the introduction on the front page of the manual 'the items comprising the installation are listed in tables 1 - 6 and are supplied in CES Nos 44750, 43754, 44681, 43428, 42921 (2N), 42992, 42921 (2F), 43906, 44687, 44696, 44750'
However, these tables do not appear in the manual I have purchased. Does this mean that the tables and all the installation requirements are listed in the further manuals so I have to purchase a complete set? Or does anyone know where I can find all the installation requirements in one document?
Many thanks for you help

Hi Clive & Andy
Firstly, many thanks to you Clive for your prompt and very informative reply. I have digested every detail! and will attempt to use the given information to find out if the alternators are still working and serviceable.
Andy, thanks also for your input....helpful as always.
I will post to let you know the outcome of my testing.

Dear All
Happy New Year!!
I am need of some help please. I am trying to find out if my spare Rotax BA 2803 Alternators, for my FV432, are working. I have been asked to find out what the resistances of the stator and field windings in the alternator should be.
I have read the information (see below) given by Clive Elliott in 'All Charged Up' Part 2 but I am not sure if this is the correct data I have been asked for.
Output winding (each phase) 0.24-0.28 ohms at 20 degrees centigradeField resistance 0.34-0.37 ohms at 20 degrees centigradeField current 4.9-6.1 amps at 1,750 rpmField current 5.0-6.2 amps at 8,000 rpm
If anyone can let me know if this is what I need or advise me as to the correct data I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your help
