  1. Will my Bedford MK with 500 diesel run on supermarket cooking oil? Do I need to do any work? Is it likely to do any damage. Bill :nut:
  2. I just bought a Bedford MK off Ebay a few weeks ago and just took delivery late last night. The guy who sold it claimed it was a 1972 model but that it was first registered in around 1980. Can I get it dated from the chassis number? Do I post this number on this site or should I ask another source? It was sold as having a Bedford 330 diesel. What are the obvious differences between this and a 500, I am not sure which it actually is. There are two plates fixed inside the cab the original says its a 330 but a later plate added I guess when it was decommisioned says 500. Is there anything on the engine that would quickly allow me to tell if its a 330 or 500? Which is the better engine for these trucks? Thanks for the ehelp. Bill
  3. Looking at a Bedford mj for sale, registered as Agricultural vech meantime so apparently doesnt need MOT and Road tax for free. Has anyone any experience of this, I would have thought getting a truck registered as Agricultural would have been very difficult. I would prefer to get my Bedford R.L recovery truck running but just cannot find a good replacement cab. I hope to use the truck to tow my classic tractors to shows. Can anyone see any problems with either the suitability of the truck or the fact its registered as Agricultural. What mpg would someone expect to get from an mj with 330 turbo. Thanks Bill
