  1. Can anyone identify the stowage bin on the rear of the turret, looks like a sensible modification.

    R

Its the otics bin though we were only ever issued one per troop so we used then to store the cam nets in.

Also on the side of it we use to hang the don 10 reel and have a old cheftain bin on the other side of it for the 17kg gas bottle.

Oh and they normally looked like this

  2. Worth a look if you wont a good car and 4wd have a look at the jaguar x type awd. Nice motor plus either a v6 or diesel and you can pick a good one up cheap got mine for £4000 with full leather air con electric everthing and its a jag.

  3. That's really nice, not sure about the Rebel steering guard though, just a bit out of place. I'd love to own that though.

Yea that and the black out quater glass in the back but inside it did look the proper job

  4. Jeez, Tommo, you QOY boys did things different to us RY lads!

Ferrets, Saladins, Saracens and Fox, with the engine OFF 'Pump -Up' the (gearbox) brake bands by selecting each gear, and depressing the GCP FIRMLY 20 times in each gear, in turn - 20 in 1st, 20 in 2nd, 20 in 3rd etc.

Select neutral, start the engine and let it warm up.

(Hope your antipodean Fox has had the carb. flatspot sorted.)

Yea thinking about it you are right 20 times in each gear. And the reason why our way is strange is we were never stood still long enough to even apply the handbrake. :-D;).

  5. Right let me rember about starting a fox.

Yea first thing in the morning pump the gcp (cluth pedel) about 30 times to free it all up and get it feeeling right.

To move off first select 1st gear relese handbrake hold on foot brake. Then apply a firm and hard pressure to the gcp pushing it all the way to the floor and bring your foot back up like you would with a normal clutch relesing the foot brake at the same time. As the fox moves forward select 2nd gear. and when the revs say just apply firm pressure to the gcp to push it down to the floor then bring it back up quick.

    Hopes that makes sence.

  6. Heard that news today. Sad as it is. If ever i had a tyre with a lump in the side wall i always let the air out as they are prone to going bang at some point. Thing is not every body is awere of the danger of tyres.

  7. Just a thought taken form another fourm i am with.

If a person is in manchester and needs something picking up form london. They put a post i the section and anyone passing can get in touch get the details and pick it up for them. Also works if someone is traveling between two points they can say were they are going to and from and pick stuff up.

The two people just agree if its for free or if they some fuel money is give or favour for favour.

Works well on the fourm i am with. May be worth a thought for here.

  8. The best one i got told just before battle "Remember you weapon was built by the lowest bidder"

Also " if in doubt The claymore is pointing towards you"

And from sniper school " dont worry about the bullet with your name on it watch out for the one mark " to whom it may concern""
