  4. I paint cars for a living, and paint my own 'green machines', and matt and semi gloss paints are a problem, as prevoiusly stated. Top tips:- 1. make sure tin is well stirred. 2.Make sure all tins are the same batch number.3. Try to make you have bought more paint than you need and, ideally keep in one air tight tin. 4. Make sure that when you thin or and add hardener that the ratios are always the same, a paint or mixing cup will insure this,[paint supplier].5. Ensure that you leave the same time between coats when applying the paint. 6. Keep all coat even when painting[ don't overload one corner, and apply not enough on the other].7. Air temperature can also be crucuial to the matting affect, and somtimes colour[ do not paint on a boiling hot day, and then paint the adjacent panel when its very cold, or damp].8. this war time paint changes over time[no U.V. filter in it I suspect] if repairing an area, be prepared to paint a larger area than you think.[fade out thinners works well for losing the edge of repairs] Hope this helps, Nick T236
  5. Hi, I am still struggling with info, will take pics soon[ rolling restoration though!] Has any one else got a 'wide' bodied Canadian T236 dodge out there? Earliest I can find is A 1,000-1,500 plus later than mine and all 1945? Found some info stating that about 2,300 were made, and then re-called to have the bodies narrowed because of air freight problems in C47's, but mine escaped this. regards Nick
  6. Hi folks! Here we go,I have a Canadian Dodge T236 WC 52,I think,Feb/March, 1944. It is an early 'Wide Bodied' version,6ft 11 1/8" wide,no cut out in the side of the bonnet. It has evidence of having had a snorkel retro fitted, and the removed at some point. I have all data plates, except,of course the delivery date plate. I have looked at a lot of T236 sights, but would like to learn more, correct bonnet numbers etc. Having just completed a trouble free Normandy tour, I would appreciate any help or web sight addresses to establish date of manufacture, as I have a new date plate to stamp! regards Nick
