Thank you Pierre, hopefully work will re-commence in the next few weeks.

WOT stands for War Office Truck and 6 is its model number.

WOT actually stands for W = War office, O = 1940  (start of WOT series production), T = Truck.

  2. Ford WOT2 trucks are good, nice and fast but tend to overheat. Also it's like driving a car with the heater on permanently!! If you see them about, the windscreens are normally open and side screens never used. Also, use road or sand tyres on the front, not trak grip as a WOT2 will wander on a road.

Good luck finding a WOT2, and you will like it.

Just noticed there is a Ford WOT6 Maintenance manual on ebay, item number 333625599238. I have no connection with the seller or item, and only thought you might be interested.

Did you get that manual? I saw it has ended.

The final 7 of 7257367 looks as though it may have been struck over a different, much larger, 7, presumably part of the earlier number. There is also what may be an F [or perhaps a 5] the other side of the 6, if that is what it actually is. It doesn't really look consistent in shape and size with the 3 and the 5 to me.

An F means Foreign in Ford speak, or built outside USA.

  5. I have heard back from Nestle, who make KitKat. They do the 2 finger biscuit in foil but not the 4 finger, so I now need a blue 2 finger ration Kit Kat label to copy. Anybody have one?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Robert

  6. Does anyone know if KitKat still make 4 finger biscuits in Silver foil? I need some for a display of rationing as I have a ration wrapper I can use for them. I have found 2 finger KitKat but not 4 finger.

Knowing how much us vehicle owners like chocolate, I thought somebody here might know.

    Many thanks.

  7. For Sale

19 set mark 3 with power supply, dog bone connector, aerial lead and vehicle mounting tray. Set has 1944 on the dial and it was inspected in 1955. The set has the B set in place, which is usually missing as it was usually deleted in post-war overhauled sets. I have never tried the set so I don't know if it works or not.

Price is £700 and must be collected from Reading, Berkshire. PRICE NOW £600. Now £500 for the lot

  8. Can anyone help with some information, please?

I read sometime that the post war Little Grey Ferguson tractor used the engine block from the wartime Standard Tilly, as it was Standard who made the tractor and they used the existing mould. However I can't find the info to confirm this. Can anyone help with confirming this and where the info might be? I have to get some details for the Museum of English Rural Life for an upcoming exhibition.

    Many thanks.

  9. I have seen adverts for 'Daks over Duxford' and noticed they fly over Kent on their way to Normandy. Does anyone know the exact route they are taking and when exactly they will be over North Kent? Just wanted to be in the right place to see them.
