  1. Hi, just enquiring if anyone can recommend possible and competetively priced transportation from Horsham W Sussex to Liverpool?

or ... is anyone travelling past there soon with an empty trailer who could pick one up??

    cheers

  2. cheers Jerry, I agree that prices seem to have crept up but question how many actually get their asking price as they seem to be for sale for a very long time!

Decent ones at reasonable prices do come up so it’s a a question of biding time and being patient by the look of it.. and trying to be quick off the mark when one does come up... or even better and get the heads up on one before it gets to market...😁

You dont specify your price range? There are MANY good Jeeps out there for sale......

you’re right there are MANY good jeeps out there but all seem to be £18k and MANY a LOT higher.... unfortunately my budget goes upto £14k...

  4. Hi,

I’m after a decent Willys/Hotchkiss jeep, must be running and preferably nothing that needs welding as I don’t have the skills for that!

I’m based in the North of England but don’t mind travelling for the right vehicle, please pm me if you have one for sale or know of one that is.. I’m a private buyer who has been watching out for one for to long now and aware I’m getting too long in the tooth if nothing turns up soon..

Cheers all and a Happy New year.

  5. Still on the lookout for a jeep alas, please feel free to contact me if anyone has one for sale or knows of one that might be.

The one I got a heads up on above, unfortunately the chap was asking too much for it for me .

  6. Now I am jealous, I’ve always been wary of auctions but that looked a good jeep for the money and at the budget I’ve set myself, be interesting to see what the MB at Matthewsons auction house went for on Saturday...

  7. Hi all,

Been offered  hotchkiss jeep that’s been in a museum for 30+ years and only done 300mls since it left the French factory in 1970. Suffice to say everything is like new.

    Q. Asides from oils etc etc and sensibly checking everything before trying to start it up, is it a worthwhile undertaking for someone with basic skills and if I did what else to consider.

  8. I think you’re right...

There are a lot of sellers at present who just won’t budge on ambitious prices, there have been two that interested me, (one has been advertised for sale since May where I offered £1500 less than asking price) but neither will negotiate on price..

Both weren’t anything special in my opinion..

  9. Hi all,

Am looking for a good Hotchkiss or similar, must be mechanically sound, solid and original, I’m based in Liverpool so hopefully someone is thinking of parting with theirs.

Please pm or email me if you have anything or know of anyone who wants to sell one, don't mind recommissioning work but nothing too major.

    Nick

  10. Hi all,

Retired a couple of years now and been on the lookout for another jeep (I had an MB back in the very early 70’s). Am on the lookout for a good unmolested Hotchkiss..

Sadly I found this site a bit to late as I was exclusively offered a very good looking Ford GPW last week BUT the seller was selling the family home due to a death and needed it gone this week, being in Liverpool and the jeep in Norfolk I had to pass on it and with a very very heavy heart gave the details to a dealer in Devon who snapped it up without hesitation. I’m sure someone on here lives near Norwich who could have looked it over for me, however..

The search continues but glad to join this group as there seems to be some good articles to read.

Had virtually all models of Landies over the years but the jeep still does it for me..

    Nick
