Pretty sure the equivilents are straight 140 and straight 90 think i paid abouit £40odd for each 25 liters drum. Seems we have gone full circul.(for some reason i can't seem to spell circle any more!):n00b:

is sfx cab straight. cos parker put it on its side not long after he had it.

i looked at turbos explorer about 10 years ago to see how he had fitted the double plated clutch. he said theres the spanners theres the truck help your self. so thats how i ended up with the double plated clutch in mine. a very clever man who will help you:)

The simple answer is this, there was no straight 90 gear oil in use in the Services. Often military oil grades are kept to a minimum to simplify supplies. My recollection is that OMD330 was used in a lot of vehicle gearboxes, probably because they contained non-ferrous metals and also because synchros do not work at their best with extreme pressure additives present.
I have never seen any gearbox damaged through use of SAE50 engine oil.
isent SAE50 engine oil the same as SAE90 gear oil:confused:
thats what the old chap told me who i got my oil from:)

Did you have replace any parts of the frame or did they just clean up well?
I see you are having to work between bad periods of weather like myself. It's really good on the nice days though. Beats being inside in a workshop.
