3rd rally 1oo miles round trip, clutch went again :argh::argh:the adjustable clutch linkage undone.then the brakes over heated down a hill :sweat:talk about brake fade,:shake: they are not that good to start with.then to top it all the starter would not dissengage burnt it out ,all in all a good trip
you have brakes on your scammell:shocked:

hi got to the abbey hill friday night had a good weekend forgot to take some pics. had a few ciders:-D. coming home had the throttle linkage come of wore out:argh:so cabletied on:-D will sort that this weekend:cool2:

my boy had them first them gave them to me. i wish it was green paint wouldent have felt so rough:sweat:got the all clear from doc so back to work tomorrow and abbey hill friday night:yay::yay:

Regarding the rear axle oil pump Rob a chap who ran an Explorer on recovery work for many years told me to check the oil pump drive shaft for wear as he had one fail causing back axle damage ! Just one more job to add to the list :sweat:
doesent the rear axle oil pump just pump the oil through the axle cooler:confused:

Right will do. I am also a bit worried about the whine from 6th gear, all the others are silent but 6th was a bit of a screamer. Is it normal??:confused:
mine was the same in top so changed gearbox and still the same:argh:
ended up being the clutch centers rivets worn:(
changed clutch and was ok:yay:

we get are oil from a local fuel firm. if i remember right its northovers fuels dont know if you have them your way:cool2:

Nice and easy to tweak the pumps on TDis then readjust them for the MOT.
Never got round to messing with my TD5 disco before the injector wiring loom got oily and I fell out with it.
30mpg was tyred yesterday

you probably get better MPG out of the Explorer though!!!
