I have just swapped some bits for one of the prototype fodens.(EKA kit but no rotating crane)
has anyone got details of the batch that were built (have been told 6) or has anyone any photos.:nut:

Have been recovering various wheeled and tracked casualities using many types of vehicles over last 40 years starting with Marshall 12/20, Unipower Hanibal,, Fordson Majors, Militant MK 1 and 3,Foden EKA, Scammell EKA, Pioneer, Highwayman,and even the chaindrive and never had any problems.
We have been taught from an early age how to recover many types of vehicle,and tree removal which can cause major stresses on the winch tractor and rope. If in doubt add a snatch block or three.
Experience and family knowledge.

We have very similar trailer in yard, (heavy trailer) ours is an ex pickfords trailer, it looks identical. if any one is interested it is for sale talk to me or Ben (NPTIMBER)

I have spoken to DVLA today and if I build a ballast body on flat rack and "use as ballast tractor" all ok.
if no legal specification on what you can use as ballast perhaps I will put Bens lunch box on the back:nut:
Will use scammell chain drive as Escort vehicle. :laugh:
Waiting for confirmation by post.
I have all relevent HGV licences and so no need to panick on what I can drive legally.

Same width as Antars, and most mobile cranes. have been into DVLA and will be Special Vehicle?
Scammell Drops, Private Heavy Goods as normal big hooks are, unless converted to breakdown???

Have completed work on Scammell drops (thanks to brothers and (nephew REME RECCY MECH )that arrived last weekend and road tested all working fine:-D.
anyone got any flat racks spare?

Joe, do they use a Rolls 305 like the S26/Crusader or is it a later engine?
Hi Mike, they have the 350 RR same as the Leyland / Scammell 26 drops.
quite a few civvy fodens etc had the same engine.

Congrats on your your fine purchase, I look forward to meeting you and seeing your Drops repaired.
When I saw it, it looked to need a engine out, a rear prop, the electrics sorted, ect
have you found anything else up with it?
Few small bits, have diesel tank, have prop, have brand :cheesy:new engine to drop in, just need good VM /Electrician?
work starts this weekend.
If passing call in, bring some spanners !! :-D

Foden drops now lives at Stoke Albany any good vm electricians bored and what to earn a shilling or two.:-D:-\:laugh::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I have a high speed diff matador (the one attached to other end of Round timber club banner on matador gallery photos) the cab is now rather sad:cry:. What was the speed difference between diff ratios?

Foden Drops has gone to Brian and Rob Bailey they needs a sump and a few other bits if anyone has any please leave note in my personal message.
Have attached a couple of photos.
I have tested winch out on Foden Recovery no stopping it!!!!!!!:cool2::nut:
