Have just sorted a problem on a jimmy 6 volt with slow turning over
and bad starting checked all the obvious things i.e. charged battery
then put it on a load tester ok, checked starter ok, checked wiring ok,
it was only after we had been on it half a day and decied to give it up
till the next day and the owner was messing around in the cab under
the seat and I asked him what he was doing and he replied just turning
the isolater off I had fiited a couple of weeks ago for security reasons
a quick disconection of same the 2 wires bolted together and insulated
and it through in straight away and fired up 6 volts don't like isolators
does your Dodge have one fitted

Dealer
in MV Chatter
Hi Mark, my dealings with William have always been very cordial and polite
he tells you what is what and it is up to you to make your mind up the only
fault he has is being to laid back if that can be called a fault other than that
he is a real gentleman the work he puts out is very good not cheap but you
pay for quality

I know this may sound daft but check your oil
to much oil or to thick a grade will cause drag
on the fly wheels , on mine the brushes were worn
down and needed replacing also the contact switch
on top of the starter sometimes needs cleaning the
hardest thing on this is getting the starter off it's a bit
of a bugger unless your a skinny guy or gal

One of the guys in the club had a gasket leak on the timing case
of his 1942 WDC 350cc Royal Enfied so he took the timing case
cover off then for some reason known only to him and God
kicked the engine over and the timing gears dropped out
now I know Enfields time up different than my Norton 16H
so please do tell the secret of the dots on the gears and order
of fitting all back together again

Well at least you did not back over my tent ,

I think you have just answered your own question
the base should be stamped .30 cal and the brass case
itself is longer than the std 9mm brass case

You do not need seat belts if the vehicle was made without them,
after a certain date you need seat belts and also to wear them,
also before a date which I can not remember you do not need
them fitted for a MOT test I think this date was in the 60's but if
fitted to say a 40's vehicle they have to be working and also you
must wear them at all times elae Mr Plod can give you a ticket

I have been with the AA for quite a few years now
and apart from one incident at Thruxton when I must
have got the AA patrol from hell I have found them
very good they have felayed my Dodge and Jeep from
all over the country when it has been needed and gone
out of their way to go looking for parts etccc . and even
the one time I did have a problem at Thruxton and told
the AA patrol to go away politely and got them to send
a real person which they did eventualy who solved the
problem they will recover upto to 3.5 tons as will the RAC

Flippin brakes smoking..

Jack, the time you have spent talking about this you could have had them off
and the problem sorted , it seems strange though that all the drums were smoking
or was it just one of them
