  1. Thanks for that, don’t like dismantling thing unnecessarily! Some times that can create more problems πŸ˜…πŸ‘
  2. On the control tube near the bottom, there is a square block fastened around it above the casting, do you know if this is removed the tube will split to allow the mounting plate to slide down?
  3. Thanks for that info, It looks like I will drop the whole set up and mounting plate in a oner, I’ll rig up some sort of jig which I can lift up with a Jack then lower it down to remove it, I presume it’s a heavy piece of kit when off 😬
  4. Chris, Is there any easy way to remove the motorπŸ€” Mine is standing on its legs so i am working upside down, 4 top bolts and 2 at the front from underneath, but! Those swivel castings that seems to fit to brackets either side if the motor, does it mean those gearboxes/diffs need to come off first? Would be much easier if i could find a way of turning it over. Alistair
  5. A working quad M45. it was slow on the elevation so lifted it off the truck and set it on a frame die I could get under. the only thing I did was disconnect the elevation coupling so I could manually move to check if binding connected the coupling, the battery, switched onand I have nothing! No motor start. Tried the circuit breaker to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on what I could check? I earthed it to the Meg terminal on the battery 😞
  6. 😬 will do πŸ‘ where are you based? I’m in Cumbria
  7. Disconnected the driven and there has to be drag somewhere, really hard to manually depress the guns, slightly better elevating them. More investigating needed!
  8. Ben, Did you ever get your hot motor sorted? I have a problem with the differential that works the elevation, it is so slow and draws 150 amps in operation, traverse is the full 60deg a second. Alistair
