Two unidentified signalmen operate a field wireless set during tactical training of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). They were taking part in amphibious training on uninhabited islands in the Inland Sea. 3919 Corporal (Cpl) J Gerrans is sending and receiving messages on a wireless transmitter and the man on the left is cleaning the sparkplug of a portable petrol generator. Note the rechargeable Exide battery attached to the transmitter (centre) and the antenna erected above their position.

  2. Hello Fellows.

I wanted to ask if there are groups of UK planning to attend in the week before the June 6 to the beaches of Normandy. Last year I could not go to the celebrations for 70 years, but maybe I can go this year. I was reading that in many cities like Bologna, Italy, are celebrating the liberation of many cities, but wanted to know if it will be repeated in Normandy, this year, celebrations, maybe not like last year but could find you all there.

    Thanks in advance!

    Bes regards

  3. Thank you Ron!

  5. Hi fellows!

I need your help with more measurements.

The width of both sigth (front and rear) is the same?

    002129.jpg

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards!

  6. Forget that 70mm tube! Try and find some 2 3/4 inch stuff Ha Ha. I'll get round to those other measurements later. Will have to unlace my canvas butt cover!!!!!?????

    Ron

Ron Apologies if there is difficulty making the measurement, we can take this photo approximate measurements!

A friend advised me to visit a scrap store . There may be a piece of pipe 70 mm in some old machinery.

That good idea to seek some Exhaust pipe!!

EDIT: Thank you Ron!!! all lenght shaft have the same diameter?
