Hi all, currently i'm working on a CVRT and would like to share some pictures of the restoration. Main goal is to get it running again. It was a diesel version the gearbox was removed, since diesel gearboxes are rare. This year when I could buy a petrol gearbox and jaguar engine from Vince I decided to convert it back. When finished plan is to have it as my wedding car in middle August next year, so fingers crossed
Lights worked with the batteries that were still in

Hi All,
Couldn't find it on the forum but I want to test run the engine outside the vehicle without using the original cables. Does anyone known how to hook it up? Eg the starter has a solenoid with 4 inputs how does it have to be wired up? Thanks
Ivo

Hi All,
Currently rewiring a WC63 and I had a question about the junction box, according the manual wiring schematic wires A till J have to be attached to the straight junction box. Only thing is the actual Junction box is in a round. See picture as an example. I know it's not a problem as long as the other side corresponds with the wiring sequence but it's there a proper way?
Thanks for your help

Saw that also the Spartan OPFOR are listed, but mentioned is that the engine and gearbox are missing. Probally hard to come by or not?

Here are some more pictures. Looks there is an name on the Turret but is hard to see.
Inside turret
Drivers position
Engine room is completely stripped, possible due to that the finish used the Comet later as some kind of bunker there is also some kind of storage construted the engine room and you can acces the turret through the engine room
Transmission
Radiators, we also have the fans but don't have a picture
Engine is an take out of an centurion, we heard that it would fit in a Comet when the sump is changed?
Fuel tank
So most of the parts are there, not all like an (L or R) fuel tank and oil tank and some bits for the engine etc.

Hi Adrian,
Till now have not found the makers plate, I presume it is gone. But could find on inside the turret stamped in the armour plate the date 1945 but no month indication.

Hi all,
We recently have a new project in our workshop. Were are quite enthausiast about this one. It is one of the Ex Finish army Comets. On the Hull is the number Ps.252-33. On the turret (both sides) there is a registration number T335817. It has the 'B' type hull (A34 Comet Mk 1 Model B).
It’s in good condition and we want to have it up and running in June 2014. During this year we want to bring it to The Normandy Beaches. So fingers crossed
Does anyone know some history of this Comet referring to the registration number?

Hi all,
Coudn't make photo's the week before, cause we lost our camera. Last week the sandblasted parts arrived and we worked on the engine bay (sanding and prep paint).
Last weekend I worked on the last rockerarm shafts. All rocker arms are now removed so we can strip them further down (bushes and running plates).
Today I started again with drawning 3D parts for the Priest like brackets for the dynamo, transformator box, hatches etc. Will work further on it tomorrow. It cost a lot to draw it but once in the lassercutter you can't work faster than that

Great historic story!
Good luck with this project!

Everyone a Happy New Year!
We worked on our Priest. Sadly didn't made pictures of the work we did. We mostly did things like finishing the floor, hinges fueltankbrackets etc so there wasn't an update for a while.
Now on the photo's page under 2009 you wil see photo's of parts in stacked in crates. They will go to the sandblaster tomorrow.

Rest in peace and the condolences to his Family .
Hope that the collection will be perserved for many years.

it's not right to sale this on ebay, very sad indeed.
But as I'm thinking such items could or are also used in ww2 movies.

New update http://www.priestm7b1.nl
In the early morning of last Saturday, we test fitted our new floor. Then we started with welding on hinges and worked on other parts, like boxes, covers etc.

Really nice to see this! Good thing that you restored the multibank, most will just put in a radial. Great workmanship!
I am interested about the condition of your 3-piece transmission. Ours is a one piece transmission and everthing was as good as new, due to all the oil that was still in there. Thought maybe the 3-piece could be more troublesome by sweating oil?
We get some new rubber on our wheels. A company in the netherlands makes them cause till today the same wheels are still used in our harbors. What was the main problem with your wheels?

We were not planning to take deacs to Normandy, only our Halftrack M5. We’re planning to go with 7 people (in British uniforms) in the halftrack (ages from 21-44 years, no 8 years old )
We were thinking to join up a group (like www.normandyevents.com) that arrange accommodation and permissions.
But I think my question is answered, Halftracks (armoured vehicles) are allowed with the right permissions
