very interesting sites.

I just wear my normal clothes when showing the vehicle A, because they
cover to many earas and countries, B, i just want to relax and take it all
in, C, because the sauce from the burgers always drips onto your clothes.
-
that sounds like good news,
-
Jack, yes thats exactly what i ment, you got it spot on, i just think it
would encorrage more people onto the site, as some people may
mistakenly think "historic oh thatal be ww2 stuff then", so it'll just
show how broad a range of MVs the site covers, and more members
can only be benifical to the site and hobby.
-
Just had a thought what about a Historic Military Vehicle register section,
so people can list the HMV/HMV's they have, then prospective user's
can see just how wide a veriaty of HMV's the site and topic covers.

I'll keep a look out, you could put a wanted ad on milweb as its free.

CHAT
in Tell us...!
Hi, fancy meating you here.
-
That always helps having understanding neigbours, are you keeping the ferret it the same scheme? or changing it, a mate has a turretless ferret
and thats in sand and green and it stands out very nicely against the rest of the green MVs, either way i'm sure yours will be good.

CHAT
in Tell us...!
Ive noticed that sometimes there are quite a few people on here but no
posts, what i mean is that its almost like people wating for a reply to a
topic so i was wondering if you had a chat room then people wouldent just be waiting for someone to reply, thats my ramble over, just a thought.
-
You must have understanding nearby residents or do you do it at your
aquatic center, i see you havent started on the ferret yet, you'll have to
post some pics of it.
-
Doin a good job there, what method did you chose, i'm wondering because
ive been use a roller and ive found that it gives a much better finish than
brush, and you dont get streaks/brush marks or brissles in the paint, also is quicker and uses much less paint and is easier to touch up scratches.
-
Great work there, you should be very proud of what you lot have achived.
-
Cor you sure know how to keep busy, thats a very nice collection you
have there.
-
Hi, from what i can remember it was usally anything bigger than a lwb
landy that the camo pattern was sprayed, anything smaller it was brush
painted, hpoe that helps.
-
Hi, have you tried http://www.emlra.org it for ex mil landys, it's very good and
their very helpfull.
hope that helps

Hi, can anyone tell me how much a 4 wheel weapons carrier will tow,
and how much a 6 wheeled weapons carrier will tow?
Thanks
-
Hi, its good to see that people from any where joining, enjoy you stay.
Tyler.

I find that "Halfords pre 1980 engine oil" works fine i use it in all my
HMV's, and it's very good, i find it's well priced and easy to get hold of.
-
Good find I bet that took a while to find, how come its got two jerry cans?
-
Too many i suppose, oh by the way i made another HMV discovery in one
of the local villages there is a proper old style garage, what i mean is it
has the old filler pumps the bell that rings when you drive over the cable
and pics of all the classic cars that they have ever serviced or filled up,
on the walls hundereds of them litrelly, anyway i went in there to pic up
something and they have a WW2 jeep in the back of the garage, aparently
its sat their for awhile, one of the workers owns it or something and it was
their project (now board with it) but what i mean by that is he was
moddifying it eg hard top (bodge), and big off road wheels but from what
i could see that was all the mods, i will see if i can get some more info and
some pics, still finding out about that champ and them trucks.
-
The newsletter defently says the 5th, i'll phone them tomorro just to make sure, im not exactly rushed off my feet.
-
I would totaly agree with that even if all my MVs are landy size,
you just can't belive that something so big is either so mechanicaly
simple or could tow something so huge.
-
I'll see if he will let me take some pics of them and the champ, and if i
can i will post them on here, I'll find out if he's changed his mind about
them aswell.
-
Ah now i see, theres a farmer in the next village on from me
with prototype british ww2 trucks etc in his feild and he's also
got a ex sigs champ, i went to his place and inquired about the
champ and that, he just said he bought them cos he could, and
that he has "only the intension of leaving the trucks in the field",
the sad thing is he has no one to pass them onto so who knows what will
happen to the after he's gone, theres a K9 sigs truck in a feild 10 miles
away also and its easily saveable too.
Making satin finish paint
in MV Chatter
Posted
Ive never heard of any think, but I'll ask a sprayer for you, if there is i
would think it would be rather pricey, you could try mixing some satin
varnish in with it and testing it, or try a matt varnish to see if it cancels out the gloss in the paint, or once you've painted give it a very light
rub down with a rough cloth like a scotchbrite.
