  1. This years Plain Invasion is being held on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of May. All the usual stuff, great food and great driving out over Salisbury Plain, Europes largest military training ground. Our new camp site has just about everything you'll need for a enjoyible weekend. A pub is on site and serves great food and beer if you wish to eat out, the landlord has offered us an outside bar if we require one, posible disco and quiz night also planned.

Our drive out over the Plains will be the normal off road drive with plenty of stops for tea and site seeing. There is also a plan for us to go and visit the WW1 pratice trench systems at Beacon hill or Perham Down.

The whole weekend is geared around you, your vehicles with no public. We do tend to get visitors but thats cos we are camped at a pub. We have space for about 50 vehicles and tentage. Convoys to and from Salisbury Plain will be sent out in packs of 10 to 15, once on the ranges we regroup.

Price for the weekend will be about £25, the camp site is at the Weyhill fair Andover and will be open from 8 oclock Friday morning

    More information to follow soon.

  2. Hi guys, was sorting through the shed the other week and came across two of these jackets. One has been put in our display BUT, we know nothing about them. Anyone got a date this jacket would have worn please???

    Many thanks.

  3. When coupled with the honeycombe armour it's very effective form APGs and small armes fire by all accounts, not to good with tree stumps and gate posts though. Tend to see quite a few vehicles driving around with bit missing or damaged.......

  4. Just starting to get back into organising the event after the death of my dear Mum, RIP mum.

Right then, got a battle plan for the Saterday. I am going to be working on the idea of making Saterday a cadet education day. I am going to be sending out emails and letters to all the local ACFs around my area to see if they would like to come over for a few hours. Along with this, I will be sending some emails to the local regiments to see if they might be intrested in bring some bits and pieces over for a few hours. It has been put forward to me if a possible time line could be set up with the different vehicles, if there is anyone with-in spitting distance from the Andover area that thinks they could help with a vehicle or two please let me know.

All the ussual stuff will be suplied, food, toilets and pub for next year, all we need now is help from you guys.

Many thanks to all for your continued support and hope to see you in 2012........

  5. Plain Invasion 2012 has had a date change for next year. Due to Military training over the month of August, I have decided to move the date back to May.

Along with the new dates, I have also found us a great new camp site with pub, great beers and great food. Dave and the cookhouse will be back and our medi and fire cover will also be on site. Lots of idea's for the weekend and a better drive over Salibury Plain is planned for the Sunday.

The dates for next year are 25th to the 28th May. The new site is at the Weyhill fair ground Andover. All are welcome to come along for a great time.

All the best and a merry Christmas to you all.

    Tony.

  6. Found this on one of those satelite web sites. It's taken over an old airfield not far from me and was found while test pits were being dug for a new warehouse site. I think it could be an AA site but not too sure. Any help on this would be great because this site will be gone very soon.

Sorry about the quality, I took a snap of it with a point and shoot from the computer.

    Tony.
