Les, that makes more sense as the info I have is that they did not make it on to the civil reg system till 1958

I have 2 military regs - 47FV15 and 47AV33. Is there any way a date of issue and vehicle type can be found out?
I think they were issued to FWD su-coes - but is that Army or RAF?
Any pointers welcome

TWA had one based in Paris used for ferrying engines around. It was fitted with a small jet engine on the roof of the body to give it abit more `go` when loaded up.

Has any one heard of a 4x2 Foden using a cab built by York trailers? I have been promised a picture. From what I can find out the cabs did not last very long and were replaced by Fodens own cab

A friend tells me they had front and rear diff locks.....operated by using a large spanner whilst laying on your back. They had phenomenal off road performance.......in a straight line

I've followed this thread and thought you might be interested in this!
This one looks abandoned and unloved and is lying in a chicken field by the A38 near Cullompton in Devon
Not quite abandoned - its fired up now and again - to move the chicken sheds it shares the field with. Ex Weston Recovery of Weston Super Mare

I think a couple of years ago this was asked by a MP in the House of Commons when refering to a vehicle and the answer was a mobile crane used by the navy

Abit of a long shot - I trying to track down a Mr Alan Pepper of Stanmore, Middlesex who in 1997 produced a list of the above trucks in circus and fairground use. Im trying to research the use of the FWD su-coe whilst used in this phase of its career. Together with what I already had gathered, the `Pepper` list and help from others I have quite a database. Alan stated in his notes he had approx 50 pictures of the trucks which I am keen to view and help fill some of the `gaps` I have.
Not much else to add about Alan - got a feeling he himself may be ex military or very closely associated with the military
Any leads gratefully received

Interesting to note that there appears to be more model Bs still about than the FWD su-coe that came along much later. I have been researching the su-coe and its life with showmen and circus operators. At present I am only aware of 2 being restored, both, hopefully out and about in 2010. During my research I have heard stories about a few more, but so far I have not seen them, so they remain on the `pending` list
