Balls still available until I do a scrap run Saturday morning. Yours for the postage fee.

Bit of a way to pop down and borrow it!

Managed to get the hub nut off today. Struggled for a few minutes before remembering that everything on the near side of a mili is left hand thread!
Pic shows the home made spanner with offending seal on top of the brake shoes.
New seal ordered from triggparts on eBay.
Large quantity of brake cleaner also on order!
Hopefully the seal will arrive by the weekend so we can get her back together - she's blocking the steam roller in and my son wants to take it down the pub for Sunday lunch!

Was actually inspired by your account if when you had to do yours rob! Linkage will all come off for freeing up next

Had a busy weekend!
After taking her out for a run last week, we noticed an oil leak from the rear of a hub. So it's drum off for investigation.
Also decided to take side panels off so they can be sorted during the dark nights. Problem was I fell through the bed twice it was so rotten, so got a bit rough with the crow bar and hammer!

By the way, someone's nicked your front diff :-D
:nut: I was hoping that having such a large lump awol would make the steering a little lighter! But alas, no!
BTW - i still have to scrap the roof, so if anyone wants the balls off it, let me know!

Have heard back from rlc museum.
Unfortunately the card for my chassis number isn't on file so I am no closer to finding out its history

Had to move stuff about the yard this weeked, so as she was running, i couldn't resist a quick spin up the road in the Mili.
Only faffed a couple of gear changes!

We'll the first coats have gone on. The rad is black. The cab mid Brunswick green. Will post a pic later in the week.
-
mine is on the back (inside) of the bumper, rhs
-
The Aveling green is slightly lighter than br Brunswick so it will end up "fleet" colours!!!

Not much achieved this weekend, the boss had me gardening yesterday (although I was using a chainsaw to cut some trees down. I would have winched it, but the roots are under concrete and paviours). Shooting this morning but have managed another coat if oxide on the cab, as well as osf wheel. Unfortunately rain and light have now stopped play.
I'm still undecided as to colour of the cab any suggestions?
-
Good start with the restoration, Stuart, nice pictures too. Is the cab floor in good nick or have you yet to get to it.
I can't help with the quarter light, but just in case you don't know, early and late cabs are different. If your quarterlight is rotten that would suggest it is a later cab,as the early cab window frames were made of brass and unlikely to rot. The two types are not interchangeable.
Hi Rob,
Cab floor seems quite good, only found one hole near the battery isolator.
Thanks for the info on the cab windows, looks like a repair job then.....

given the length of time this has been going on, i would have said enough's enough by now, and gassed the bloody thing off!
If you need specific nuts and bolts made, i can highly recommend Allbolts. www.allbolts.co.uk

Has anyone got a LH front quarter light please? The frame of mine has turned religious (holy!) and a replacement would be easier than a repair
-
Ok guys, your thought please.
We've decided she's going to be BR Mid Brunswich Green, possiibly lined.
So the question is - what colour do we paint the wheels? Do we do different coloured nuts etc?
Any one any good with photoshop and can come up with some suggestions?

Sounds good Paul. Thanks very much. Pm me your number and I'll give you a call sometime

I know this is a daft question but as it is a castellated nut is there still a pin through the thread?
