  1. I need to create a section of the loom for the rear brake light and indicator, I have one but the other is absent from the loom. Could I ask what amp wiring I would need for this? would it be along the lines of 16.5amp or thereabouts? thanks, Luke
  2. thanks, The truck is sitting on quite an aggressive sloped driveway, fortunately the Dacia in 4x4 was man enough to move it... just
  3. Perfect thanks for that Nick! The strap like grounding cables from memory were two on the outside cab on both sides located where marked on this photo There was also a strap at least an inch wide by 8 - 10 inches long that I believe was attached to the starter. I don't remember seeing any more locations when we dismantled it Nick, hopefully this helps?
  4. Could someone help me with these last few cables please and explain what these cables are please? The first pic has 3 cables green/red green/white and green/(brown/yellow) cable tied from Autosparks am I right in assuming these go to the indicator switch and the green/yellow is for the horn? Are these at the top to go to a relay of some sort? understand the red/yellow green white now go to the oil warning lamp Assuming the above goes to the dip switch, blue/red blue /white and blue? where would the pink/black & red/yellow go off too? Any help muchly appreciated, I also just found out my auto sparks loom only allows for one brake light, rear indicator so I will need to look into making the second rear cable
  5. Hello could anyone tell me which light bulb is required for the Lucas butler convoy lamp please? thanks in advance luke
  6. perfect thanks again Nick and one one last question 'honest' what type of brake light switch have you gone for or could recommend please?
  7. Nick your diagram that you have does it detail where a mauve and black wire attach too? I've followed what you've written and it's all coming together just on the original mauve and black went to the control box, post war as I know now it doesn't, I believe the other end of the mauve wire is connected to the dash in the panel lamp switch with the brown. thanks for your advice so far regards, Luke
  8. Thanks for this info Nick, Hopefully the rain will stay away this weekend......
  9. I will probably restore it to an MW for the time being in the hopes to continue with the MWR restoration over the coming years, on the plate its a 1951 REME rebuild to an MWR, doing the history with the number we had, it was formerly an MWD - a friend printed all the history that I currently have at home I will see if i can dig it out, I do know that there was a 1939 date on the radiator can't remember the manufacturer, hopefully this weekend there will be quite some progress, unfortunately restoring the vehicle started out well, sprayed most of the components, now the neighbours have complained "this hideous vehicle on the drive is ruining our close" (blah blah) even though I haven't made noise/annoyed etc, but they had me take down my temporary spray booth outside hence why at the moment the truck shows 2 shades of olive
  10. A little while ago now, just working on the wiring, hopefully sand tyres coming off this weekend and bar grips going on the front.
  11. Hi Nick, thats perfect thank you nice location for the Lucas indicator too! one more cheeky request of you wouldn't mind, being the 6 pole junction box replacing the 4 pole on the front right, which wires would now go to them? I was wiring up the whites to that location. And also before I forget, with the low and high beam wiring, which twin element bulbs would you suggest for headlights please? yes that's my dads MWR on Facebook that I've been restoring for 2 years now out in the open against the elements
  12. Nick would you by any chance be able to shine some light on the correct location of the dip switch please?
  13. Thanks for this info Nick, I will have a look hopefully in the week when the rain ceases I will probably need some more info along the line, but that now makes perfect sense thank you again
  14. Thanks Rampant, that now makes sense brake froward clutch onto fork couldn't get to the bedford, rains been hailing down all day
  15. Nick, what at colour are your headlight cables on your autospark loom please? also if you opted for indicators, what colour are these on the loom? Green with red tracers? i can't make heads or tails of the red additional cable left over for the instrument panel that isn't on the diagram. and the blue red, blue white cables including the green white where there is only one 17 that runs from the oil thermostat to the dial? any info much appreciated. thanks luke
  16. Thanks Rampant, I appreciate your time
  17. Hi there, would anyone mind shining some light on where and how these attach please? I can't remember how I remove them before the restoration process, now I'm unsure how they go back. any help much appreciated and happy new year
  18. Yep all labelled up, I will try that, the wiring doesn't make sense on the horn end there's no way the auto sparks cabling is long enough to pass up the column, but a quickie looking at the original diagram would I be right to assume the indicators would be the additional purple wiring?
  19. OK I have requested help on this before and been given a much simpler wiring guide, I have redrawn the original guide using the coloured cables instead of the black & key. Is there an idiots guide to a rewire on a Bedford MW? I guess ATM the spirits aren't up for this with the rain and freezing conditions and the fact a have multiple octopus cables.....................
  20. Does anyone have the following for sale please? Part number 1017784 - ball spherical seat, door hinge Part number 1027310 - rollers 1/8" x 1 1/4", brake pedal Or or do you know where these are obtainable please? thanks, luke
  21. Could anyone illustrate how the pedals go back on and if there are supposed to be needle bearings at all please, I vaguely remember taking them off but can't find them for the lift of me or remember how the pedals brake/clutch go back on? Any help appreciated
  22. Would you by anychance be able to PM me the dimensions of that battery cover please? Our bedford had what appeared to be wardrobe chipboard covering the battery
  23. I'm currently restoring a Bedford MW 1943 and keep looking at the new loom I ordered from Auto Sparks. Does anyone have an easier diagram to follow to wire up? I have the original manual but im unsure as the loom has been wrapped as one colour and in sections not labelled. Apologies for the silly request
  24. After a few hours going back in time all pics and updates are labelled and sorted into monthly albums, way too many images to load onto this forum
