Sounds interesting, any pics?

Very pretty!

Nice find, will you finish the jeep in these markings?
-
Hi Paul longtime no hear mate. Yes can you post the contact details on here as I'll be wanting a new one. He's not responding to my phone calls or texts and is conveniently out when I go round.
The guy in Basingstoke is John 07867 523455. My brother in law uses him and is always pleased with his work, and he doesn't have a forklift!
-
Not good. I hope they are salvageable or can be replicated at shot blasters expense. I have seen good work by metal magic and can give you a shotblaster based in Basingstoke if you need a new one!

Hi Ian, great to see you are making progress, and of course up to your usual standard.
Just think, when you've finished this one you will be an expert ready to do the other one!

My first time too. Great show, great organisers and love the ww2 camp. A definate for next year.

When am I going to see your new Jeep restoration ? I'm at home on Friday working on the Humber if you want to drive it round ?
Working Fri, I'll get in touch over the next week or so. Love to see the Humber up close.

Very nice Ian.

Is it possible to obtain the small compression spring that assists the throw back of the gear on the starter motor? Sorry I dont know the correct name and cant find it as a seperate part on the net. Mine is broken.

Welcome! Great to hear from THE Museum. When I was 'still at home' our family holiday for many years was in Folkestone and a visit to Hawkinge was the highlight for my Brother and I, have been back a few times since. Hope to revisit again before to long. Great to hear the vehicles are getting the attention they deserve.

Thanks for the feedback gents!

What do you peeps use to fill the Jeep transmission with oil? The fillers are a pain to get to (on the M38 anyway). I have a large metal syringe but its still a bit messy!
-
Thanks for the pics, I really hope to get to this one next year in the M38.
-
Yep, have sorted a drop plate for it. Thanks gents.
-
Welcome! Mine is nearly finished, great little trucks.

Does anyone have experience of fitting a 50mm ball hitch to a Jeep? I assume the M38 hitch hole spacing is the same as a Nato hitch, which would be different hole sizing to a standard 50mm ball? I have seen the combined nato/ball but had perhaps a small drop plate in mind, is there anything available out there? I am only looking to tow a small trailer tent.
