They were first registered here in December 1973, one went to the TMSI in Howth, the second is retained in the Curragh (Museum) and I got 8819 ZO in 2001 and currently in storage.

Some photos would be nice to see. I maybe wrong but somebody did mention in the past that the British Army had purchased 2 and that Alvis were involved.

The Defence Forces (Army) purchased 3 Berliet TBU 15CLD recovery trucks in 1972/1973.

Thanks for the reply, so long back now I cannot recall as I was checking on behalf of a friend who is looking for a rear diff. for an M series Bedford.  At the time time I contacted a few places but to no avail which is very strange as the army had a large fleet of those in the 70's.

Nobody seems to have axles for the Bedford M series

Various parts required for an Acmat VLRA.

I own a Panhard M3 VTT and have yet to find somebody that produces a model of one.

I am looking for an English language parts or service manual for my 4 x 4 MAN Kat 1. I assume the manuals would be similar to either the 6 x 6 and 8 x 8.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I am Richard Dunne, a mechanic from County Laois in Ireland. I have a number of vintage vehicles and engines, and I attend rallies all over Ireland and the UK.

 

I am not sure how many of my vehicles are military but one definitely is. It is an early Crossley car.

 

I spotted a Packard truck on a classifieds site here in Ireland and saw it being discussed on this site. I am trying to find out if it has actually been scrapped or not.

All were ZD registered, 3162/63/64/65/66/67/68/69/70/71/72/73/74/75/76/77/78/79/80/82/83/84/85/86/87/88/89/90/91/92/95. ZD 3181, ZD 3193 seem to be missing, so would to check and see which one is with the TMSI.

At that Auction on the 1st of December, just 2 Quads were sold, ZD 3194 & ZD 3196 and then at another on the 23rd of April 1969 31 more were sold and all of the ZD 3170 - ZD 3179 in that sale and as I dont have chassis numbers am unable to pin down the exact reg for yours.

Hi guys, My brother is restoring an Irish Army Willys CJ3A Jeep. His Internet connection is very bad so I said I would do a thread for him. When you look at the picture you might ask "Why bother" in short, Irish military vehicles are quite rare. The Irish Government prefer to destroy there vehicles rather than sell them to the public (Yes, a sore point over hear).

 

The restoration is in the very early stages and we were wondering if anybody knew who in the UK is dealing in CJ parts. Even better would be any second hand body parts?

Believe it or not the chassis and running gear can be saved!

I am a new member here and just checked back on old records and can tell you that Willy's Overland, 15.6hp, 1952 model, registration number ZL 1233 was sold at public auction in Clancy Barracks on the 1st of December 1965 by Sheeran's Ltd, 25 Batchelors Walk, Dublin. Sorry I dont have a sale price but can tell you that at a previous sale on the 25/9/63, 9 were sold including 3 Willy's vans with the highest price then for one of the vans being £56.00 down to £15.00 for one of the jeeps.
