Think he's about to get tough
Lol. I can't help think there may be a missing comma in there
-
What happens if acid leacks on it though? Worth checking just in case of a nasty unexpected reaction. You can buy speclalist battrey packing/insulation.
Durite do a Chlorinated Rubber Paint that protects against acid spills - you might be able to paint the padding with that to seal them up.

when it comes to the meaning of "shufti cush" I like to think you can always find the cush when looking through the small hole at the front
Cushdi.

The whole base reminds me of the Hoth scenes in The Empire Strikes Back. I wonder if this was their inspiration.

Does anyone know what's happening to the museum at Ashchurch?

I've been past but never gone in.

No Jack, it's ''lets have a look at your f***y''.
Rick kindly let me drive it round the arena today. The arena needed to be bigger, then I could have got into 4th and it would have been better if it hadn't conked out in the arena entrance upon leaving!
Sorry Rick!
Having been educated (thanks chaps, I think) I found it on the internet (my eyes!). There is an interesting and educational passage in "A Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English" By Eric Partridge.

Interesting stuff. I wonder if the beams would have shown up under night vision gear?

"I'd assumed this was the receiver" In that case you have one well done Lauren! When I re-read it I wasn't sure which way round you had it. Up until now everyone seemed to assume this was an IR source of some sort
lol excellent? Now I'm confused - which bit did I get right
-
Ah, good point - I'd assumed this was the receiver and there would be heat/IR from another source to pick up.
If this is a sender, could the receiver be as simple as a chap with IR goggles?
Aha, or bouncing the IR light off the underside of a balloon? Reciever on the ground. Kind of like satcomms
-
Don't understand Lauren. But did you see my second reply to your post on the previous page?
I was wondering if line of sight was achieved using underground pipe/tunnel. You mentioned "buried" and asked for more information when I mentioned mine marking, so I thought that had the makings of a Crafty Clive Clue
-
Lauren where were you thinking they would have a receiver?

Down pipes / tunnels?
-
Balloon/aerostat with signal lamp?- I'm guessing it must have to be high up to get direct line of sight to the IR receiver.
-
oooo. How about hot-air signals like smoke signals, or maybe bouncing the IR light from the cloud layer?
Or maybe microwave into the water droplets in the air (a poor mans troposcatter?)
-
Are you buying one? I'm not sure I'd drive a "new" vehicle that far without building up a bit of experience with it and learning the quirks.

Interesting Lauren can you expand on that for me?
You could mark out areas with either covert burners or ir lamps hat wouldn't be seen to the naked eye. This could find you the safe path or maybe hidden supplies?

bought a wolf 9x9 couple of years ago for under 400 quid my cvrt tent was 50 odd quid
I picked up a 12x12 but hadn't appreciated quite how big and unwieldy it was. The side tent looked like a quick and easy option for a weekend show.

Often an advantage coming in late & you can sometimes pick up on what has said or not said. Yes receives signals
Looking for body heat? Or maybe IR path/mine markers?

Hmmm she has offered herself up to the press, papers & TV, can't see what the problem is???? I know Sarah personally through the MV scene as do many others on here, she doesn't hide away what she's had done so I can't see your point?
if you want to discuss this further then please PM me.
Ok fair enough, I didn't know and I figured it wasn't information she'd want up on here.

I was pointing out that the person involved was Tim Bluck, many knew her/him by that name as he has been about for many years on the MV scene
It seems pretty close to personal information, that's all. I'm sure anyone close would have noticed, and it doesn't seem relevant to the story.

Hey up .
..the poles are 20mm diameter X 515mm to the shoulder X 580mm overall including the 'pin' at the top and
they have a rubber / plastic 'foot' to stop them sinking into the ground.
hope that helps
Thanks Bob!

Another bit of bad reporting by the press...
Also Sarah Bluck used to be Tim Bluck...
Not sure what that's got to do it with it Lee?

It has a sort of medical look to it. Is it a heat therapy pad or maybe something dental?
