  1. Wow = thanks, i will advertise it now in e-bay like the 12x12 and 18x24 tents i have on there allready!!.

how is the 9x9 you got? any pic's of it againt your wolf??

Good job I know then......lol. It is for a defender 110. The good news is that it is pristine, and is in high demand, thats good because the bad news is it wont fit a series three. Get it sold on EMLRA forum or ebay, and use the money to buy a series three item.
  2. Yes i tried the part number in to google and that did not come up with any thing either!!, It is about the right lengh for a series three / 110 but apart from that i do not have a clue!!:???

Well, at least it is a Land Rover part number & searching the NSN reveals it was only used by UK forces. Sorry doesn't narrow it down much!

PS Its 110 Defender found it in the IPC.

  3. I see my memory has deceived me here :-(.......so you do have points. Make sure the points are clean, no bits of grit from sandpaper between them, pass a clean piece of paper through them to check. Then I would try another spark plug before getting any deeper.

Ok more om it today! as the new spark plug turned up - fitted it but still no spark!!

I took off the ignition unit compleat with the points and HT lead on it. it looks like some one has done some modifications! soldering new/replacement wires on!

I am wondering if the HT lead needs replacing but i cant see hpw to remove it? it looks like the base plate and the HT lead is all one unit?? can any one comfirm this?

Any one give me any more ideas as to what to look for next??? or where to get parts from???

    pictures attached of the Modifications!!

  4. Well I have sold the Jimmy for business reasons and bought myself a little toy to play with as below with what was left, so it is back to a tent for me in the future......................anyone recommend a good dealer :cool2:

    Hello

I have got some 9x9's and some 12x12's for sale Pm me if you are intrested, all are the proper military ones not a lightweight reproduction!

  5. Hello all

I have got a one of the above gennys - i swaped it a few years ago for something at a show with a mate he said it was a worker and i dont dought him. But I can't get it started!! i have taken out the spark plug and cleaned it up, i have got fuel and when i pull the starting cord with the spark plug out i can smell petrol coming from the spark plug hole if you know what i mean, so i am farly sure that it if not a fuel problem (but i might be wrong).

But i cant get a spark! i took the side of and replaced some of the wires going to the starter switch but still no spark!. before i attack it again tommorrow any one got anyideas as to where to start or what ti check??.

I guess the sparking system worked the same way as a petrol lawnmower? so perhaps the contacts in side need a clean up?

picture below if i have done it correctly!

  6. I am trying to get a set of military number plates made up for my army land rover to put on it when I go to shows. It appears that the DVLA have changed the rules for the manufacture of show plates. Dose any one know the rules relating to this and if I can indeed get a set made now and if I can get a set now made does any one know where I can get a set made up??

  7. Help

Brought these at beltring and i have not got any idea what they fit!! I brought them for a mate after describing them over the phone and we thougth that they fitted a 101 - alas not the 101 shock bushes are big but not this big!!.

the dims are inside 25.50mm the outside is 48.00mm the one in the box is marked in its wrapper "LV6/MT1 LU/9056/34 BUSH FERRULE RUBBER QTY 4"

I am thinking bedford but i might be wrong!!

they cost us two pounds per packet and i would rather see them used as they are still supple and all that!!

PS If i have done it correctly you should see a picture!!

  8. As spotted in a Private Members Club (possibly, all sources are secret/confidential/figments of my warped mind, however all photos are genuine fakes).

Grasshopper models the latest in CVRT Uniform.

Please note Lord Burley and Grumpygit you will be expected to dress correctly!

    Hee Hee,

I wear it if you can get me a teat to suck!!!:)

  9. I did my best with the sales pitch for your one David....

Nigel is the chap with the float screen Belgian Spartan. Thanks for the water too.

Aha.... nigel now that i know your name:-D (brain like a sieve) thanks for your input as well!!!.

No worries about the water - i did walk past later and i saw it on display!!!

  10. If you like the CVRT Samaritan, then you should also look at Sultan, lots of interesting CES and room to sleep in the back at shows (especially if you deloy the penthouse tent).

I do know if one for sale :)

    Hello,

Yes i know that you have got one for sale!! this may seen strange but i even know who you are!! and you are not to far from me:yay:.

I have sent you a PM - but i am about three to four months away from being in a position to purchase (need to re-moragage first!!) and sell a 101.

  11. We'll have one of our Spartans there too. Ask for Mike or Vince on the Gulf War display.

    - Mike

Many thanks the chris and Mike and Vince and the gent with the spartan witht the floatation screens whos name escapes me at the Mo:confused:.

It was a good learning experence and i have been pointed in the direction of Andy Baker. But i am in no rush but i have decided on eather a spartan or a smaritan!! just a few more things to sort out and i will start looking to purchase!:yay:

  12. Don't they a few years ago sell off half of the land that the old wooden huts where on. With the idea that by selling off half off the land/huts they could use the money that was released to safe guard the rest??

  13. I remember at the age of 11 watching it at RAF Abingdon open day and the ground shaking whilst the display was going on!!!

Great to see it displaying and flying again!!:yay::yay:

  14. Hi All

Thanks for the offers gents I will certainly take them up over the “Beltring” experience!.

As for the tents I will be taking 3 x 12x12 and two 2x9x9 (one a wolf 9x9) All are the genuine military issue not a lesser copy, if any one is interested then please PM me after all I do not want to take then home and they MUST BE SOLD!!!

  15. Chris thanks I will find you and introduce my self!!.

It have been a strange few years for me and my mates, there used to be about nine of use that used to go to the shows but over the past few years we have all gone out separate ways, with things like marriages and kids and even work getting in the way, shame but it happens.

So we have got some 12x12s and 9x9 to sell as I am sick of storing them in my shed and we cant see the group getting together again :-( shame but it happens.

I am still interested in the MV world :-D I want a different challenge now apart from land rovers!!

  16. Hello all

I am looking at the possibility of purchasing a CVRT soon, once I have confirmed where it will be stored and gained my “H license”. Would any of you fine people be willing to give me a walk around and a little guidance of what to look for before I purchase? I will be going to Beltring arriving on the Saturday midday I think.

I know that I must be a little mad but over the years I they have grown on me and I relish the challenge that the maintenance will bring:-D!!

    Thanks in advance
