I just recently joined the HMVF site as well. And although I haven't been here long, welcome! I was actually drawn to, and intrigued to respond to, your post by way of your mention of the Humber Pig. I had no idea what that was (I'm in the US) and promptly looked it up. Wow, aptly named and actually a very neat looking MV. Post up a pic if you get the chance. I would love to see it. Thanks for the warm wecome everyone! Gordon, I do remember you mentioning that your T-36 came from the Yreka area. I just drove through there this past Saturday on my way back from the MVPA convention in Portland Oregon. I always take a quick look at the two WWII half tracks sitting just off Interstate-5 in the middle of Yreka on my way through there. They have been there a long long time. Someone told me once that they are in line to be restored someday. Aren't they all? :laugh:

Hello everyone. My name is John and I sometimes go by the nickname Zeph on some of the MV forums. Since I belong to a few military vehicle related forums already, I thought I would take the plunge and join this fine forum as well. I think I have actually garnered some useful information from this site for some of my projects. Hopefully, I can return the favor one day. I am still fairly new to the military vehicle collection arena and my primary interest is USA WWII vehicles. I have a lot to learn and enjoy that aspect of the forums immensely. How did I get here? Well, my very first MV was a Ford GPW I purchased to restore almost two years ago now. I’m completing a ground up and still have a bit to go. I’m not as handy as most and want to finish this project by completing all of the work myself, so it will be far from prefect. Anyway, bitten by the OD bug, the next thing I know I have a few other MV’s dotting the yard. I currently have the aforementioned ’42 GPW, ’41 WC13, ’41 WC21, ’41 WC22, ’43 WC52, ’43 WC54, ’43 WC62 and a ’43 WC63. All are in various states of disrepair. I have also run through a number of other WWII Jeeps and WC’s that I have rescued and resold…mostly to fund this OD habit of which there seems to be no cure. I live and work in what I call Northern, Northern California. I live in a sparsely populated area in Cottonwood, so there are not a lot of MV enthusiasts in my area or people that even know what they represent…or care for that matter. It’s actually sad that a lot of young people I speak to don’t even know that WWII took place or what it was. Not really taught is school here nowadays, evidently. Oh well, as long as they have their iPhones they are happy and all is right with the world. Therefore, I rely on the forums to try to figure out what I need to know restoration wise. One of these days it may sink in and I can preserve some of these pieces of history. I’m 51, married with two dogs, George and Gracie. It will take me awhile to learn how to navigate through the HMVF site, but I will be working on that slowly over time. It’s a pleasure to be here. Zeph
