  1. image.jpgSo after this big aldeal of when the engine was running the breaks was all locking up, rebuilt vac etc didn't cure it, it was ovbiously a vac related problam, I was lucky enough to be put onto a new hydrovac that was in the states, couple weaks later and the problams cured, we rebuilt the carb new set of points and condenser and she's running like a Swiss watch, just in the middle of changing 2 wheel cylinders, will try upload a vidio of her running, Bill.

  2. I'm 19, started when 16 but always had a interst as my family deal in commercials and you always had the odd 'army lorry' come in, working on something and eventually getting it to run after years is certainly satisfying, I'm also luckily enough to have free storage, machanicly minded family & freinds Which really does help, I take my vehihhles to war and peace for the past 2 years but trying to take 3 a time can make the trip cost a good months wages but it's all worth it, great hobby.

  3. Need some help with the breaks.

bled the breaks a few weaks ago, went to pull away and they was jamming on, ovbiously thought they were sticking but once the engine is switched of she rolls freely, which must lead to the hydrovac, some folks said the master cylinder but if the master cylinder was faulty it wouldent leave symptoms like that, it's asif the hydrovacs staying on as soon as the engines switched on, anyone had these problams, any info would be greatly appreciated.

  4. hi all, sorted every thing with my gmc had the hydrovac rebuilt, etc. bled the breraks up a few days ago, went to pull her out and they was jamming on like a good'en, obviously thought it was the breaks, but once I turned the engine of she rolls freely, and once shes running again the breaks all seize up again, any one had these problams, ant advice?.

  5. I doubt they would ever scrap this lorry, it's just in a dealers yard as scrap value has gone down to 60 a ton, and the hippo weighing 10-11 ton max?? It would never come to £2500 in the scrap.

However i have sent a pm about her & waiting for a reply as I'm half intersted, Bill.
