Thanks mate, you said the other day there will be a tag saying Ql then D T and so on? Were do I find that tag, the postwar tag is on the passenger side of the chassis? And do you no of any Ql bodys around England for sale? Regards bill.

We cut the body of today wich was a 5 minute job, ive took some pics im sorry the lorrys looks all doll its this crappy weather!! driving me mad, the only rot i can find is the window brackets and grill, still on the hunt to find some, im suprrisingly shocked, on my Austin k9 there was alot of welding that was needed, this is an 70 year old lorry and so far i can only find the bits that i have said, very happy! ive sheeted her up from cab to the end of the chassis till after christmass, then after i will start to build my workshop to keep her dry and restore her! p.s. can any one tell me why she has to petrol tanks?. ll .

Thanks guy I'll get some more pics on tomorrow, the shame is that the chassis got lengthened by one foot for the body which is on now, but that's not a problem cut the chassis back to how they was and get the prop shaft re-balanced Bill.

I have a spare head, gear box, to wheels, a box full of engine spares, head gaskets, sump, a spring and loads of little hard to find bits. I'm over the moon with buying this old Ql and when I get down to restoring her I'll need all you lots help If the weather ain't pooring down tomorrow I'll take the body of which would make her look a million times better. Bill .

Hi Ajmac, I have all the original number plates and brass tab on the chassis. Thanks every one I'll try my best to get her on the road, I'll only start on her when my workshops up tho, shouldn't be long tho. Thanks for the welcome tho every one :cheesy: I've been under the chassis and there is not any corrosion it looks like the ql would drive by the side of a tractor over the fields and she tractor would shoot the grain or what ever it was picking up in the back of the ql, the floors a moving floor, I've sheeted the cab up and Monday I will hopefully cut the body of Monday Bill
