  1. Hi All, I am currently restoring a 1952 Austin K9. We have had this verified by the Vehicle Heritage but I am now after some further details and I wondered if some of the members may be able to help me with. On the chassis it has a brass plate with some information on it I would like to see if anyone is able to offer any advice on its history and what service it was involved in. Firstly Ministry of Supply W.V.3 Vehicle No. 40 BG 71 Chassis No. 201125 then Class of Repair is BASE OH Date 10 56 (think this is 1956) MIRS No. 384. We found also found some graffiti on the back cross member which says SCRIVEER REME 1957 and then South Rase. Any information would be much appreciated. It is definitely an early K9 as it does not have the vents in the bonnet and apart from a bit of rot which I am welding at the moment it is in good working order and it's actually done 12,000 miles. Thanks Chris
  2. Hi, Thanks for the help, regarding the MVT could you give us any help as to how I go about doing this, re finding the age of the vehicle so that I can get an age related plate. I do have the engine no. and chassis no. and its on a V5 already but with a Q plate it was registered in 1981 but this is clearly not the year of manufacture.
  3. Hi, I have recently joined and I have just recently purchased an Austin K9 which I am doing up . I am trying to find out some info on the vehicle and wondered if anyone could help. Not sure how to add new thread so I will continue here. The vehicle is at present on a Q plate and I would like to put it on an age related plate and trying to find out the year of manufacture. I was led to believe they were only built between 1952 to1958 but DVLA tell me that I need to have proof of manufacture. There is a Ministry of Supply plate on the side and it has vehicle no. 40 BG 71 and it has class of repair date which is Base OH and then Date 1056. It also has some very old writing on the chassis which says "Scriveer Reme 1957 South Rase" I wondered if this means anything to anybody. Look forward to any replies as I would like to find out some of the history of this vehicle. Its only covered 12000 miles. Thanks Chris
