Hi everyone;
By chance would anyone have a printable 1 or 2 sheet picture of the wiring diagram for a Ferret

Hi all I'm looking for some Saladin gearbox parts;
I have an email into Banister but also wanted to check here.
#2520-99-813-7429 or FV83269 5th gear clutch plates.
#5310-99-815-6567 or FV50073 Nut driving shaft left hand threads
Thanks all

Hi njjeeper:
That's exactly what I was looking for, the Ferret I'm on just has the module installed. This was done by someone else.
When reading about this system, in the Jolly paper work then talked about a ballast resistor and coil, which I didn't think it would need, but if it did I would have to find one.
Thanks again to all! I'll be finishing the install with original wiring and run a power wire.
Cheers all and thanks again.
Regards
James

I check that out and let you know, Thanks again!

Hi Clive;
Yeah the pictures are from the Jolley manual I got from Ferret sight, they are not the pictures from the ferret I'm working on.
The Ferret I'm working on just has the new module installed. I'm just going to run the red wire from the module to a power source and leave the original BR and wiring the way it is.
Thanks again

Just to see if I have this right.
The electronic ignition module is installed already.
It has a coil installed, I'm not sure if it's new or original.
So what your saying is use the original wiring from the junction box "on intake" ?
Also I don't add a ballast resistor externally to the system?
these pictures are from www.classicheads.com manual.
One picture shows a external ballast resistor?
Thanks
James

ooops
That's Jolley electronic ignition system.
Sorry

Hi Clive
It looks like someone tried to put a jolly system in but didn't use the ballast resistor that comes in the kit.
As far as I can tell the coil is new. I'm not familiar with the Jolly kit so I don't know what comes in it.
On another thread here they show a ballast resistor mounted to the coil box, and have bypassed the original ballast resistor.
I guess I need to ask can I use the original BR and do with out the other?
Or do I need to purchase the kit ballast resistor? That's where I need to know the ohms for it.
Hope this is making since!
Thanks
James

Hi all;
I'm working on a Ferret that has part of an Jolly Electronic ignition, but is missing the ballast resistor.
Anyone have a part number for it or an ohms rating?
Thanks

Hi Richard;
And again you are a wealth of information! I can't thank you enough!

I love the video and all the wonderful work and spirit that goes into your obvious enjoyment of your vehicles. Just one small request; would you please check the orientation of your Union Flag pennants?
Keep up the splendid work.
Steve.
Yes sir about the flag, it was pointed out to me and WE would like to apologize again to the UK for getting it wrong again.
We think we know what happened, on a show we didn't have them on, and our flag guy "he's Irish" re-rigged them.
Again to the UK folks our apologies !!! Have a Great New Year.

Hi Richard;
Yeah we have been thinking that is was the placement on the assembly line, but you never know!!!!
Also 04CC45 has hull# 305 and turret# 307.
Interesting!
Quick question Richard, I'm replacing the bands on 45, and would like to ask when you had to do bands, what procedure did you use to run them in? I've read the EMER on the electric motor stand and also Jim in the UK said he ran them in with vehicle.
Thanks again for your time and expertise!

Something on our hull numbers was interesting.
Saladin 01CC48 is hull 245 and turret 248
Saladin 06BB81 is hull 248 and turret 251
so we have 1 Saladin's that has same # hull as other has it's turret. LOL
cheers

Located in Central Indiana. I cannot lay claim to having a hand in its condition. It was already nicely restored and appointed with a considerable amount of kit.
An odd story for you that I may have told here previously. I was at the Knob Creek MG shoot a couple of years ago having a brief discussion with a vendor who I knew also had a Saladin. Another gentleman overheard the conversation and introduced himself as another owner, then paused and yelled across two aisles to a friend who immediately came over and he also owned one. So there we stood, four Saladin owners and a gathering that had nothing to do with vehicles. I have no idea how many are in the US, but I would guess we may have represented a good percentage of what is here.
Regards,
Bob
Thanks Bob, great info and very interesting. We have 3 here and have tracked down 5 more around the country. I'll get our intel guy to start a new list. If you have anymore info on other Saladin's it would be great.
Also if you choose you can contact us on FaceBook at....https://www.facebook.com/4thlancers/
Look forward to talking with you.

07BA21 ........ that looks to early for a Saladin and is likely to be the ARN for a Centurion ........ but 07BB21 was a Saladin and apparently it served at one point with the 17/21 Lancers in Cyprus.
regards, Richard
Hi Richard; great to see you on here, been sometime since we talked,,, have a great new year!!!
