Please see attached images of the Sherman outside 3 Div HQ as of April this year. I can confirm it still has an engine, or at least a large rust-coloured metal lump in the engine bay, as the rear doors are partially open. The HQ also used to have a Russian Zis-3 76mm field gun (donated by the Afghan MoD in 2002) outside, however it had been removed shortly before I left, possibly for cosmetic restoration as it was looking a little sorry for itself.

Hello to all the good folks at HMVF! I've been a long time lurker on this site as I felt I had little to contribute. However I felt it was finally time to sign up as my occupation has allowed me to photograph (albeit poorly) some MVs which are not readily accessible to the general public. Hopefully someone will gain some value from my posts which will follow this one. Unfortunately personal circumstances (primarily a lack of storage space, but also many other factors) prevent me from currently owning an MV, however it remains my ambition to do so in the future. Until then I'll continue to enjoy the contributions of all of the owners/operators/restorers on this site. There has been many a fascinating thread to read over the years.
