Has anyone had a problem with their Champ overheating? Mine gets the header tank of the Rad very hot, but the bottom hose is only just off cold. I've changed the thermostat for a known good one, but still the same. The temp guage reads full temp. but there is no sign of boiling. Can you remove the thermostat and run without? Any suggestions please.

I tried to tax my Champ last week online. The DVLA site wouldnt do it as it said I required an MOT even though it is declared manufactured 1954 on it's V5. I rang DVLA and they said that if the MOT is still in date then it won't let you tax on line. Luckily, my MOT ran out a few days later. I tried it today and the site allowed me to tax it no problems. This is OK of course, as long as your MOT runs out before your tax does!

Hans,
the ones with lots of outer nuts are possibly off a Ferret scout car. So the ones you need are like the top picture.

I remember skiing across Norway with one of those on my back in the 80s, whilst serving with AMF(L) Workshops. Spent most of the time falling over!!!! Never could ski !!

Looks like the outline of the Defence Fire Services badge to me.Hi guys,I've been looking through old pictures of my Landy. When we first got it it was ex-RAF and still had the outline on the rear panels where the old sticker used to be. I have never come across this shape before. It looks to be a Octagonal Star shape. I beleive it was at Brize Norton around 1991-1994 as it was first registered in 1991. Anyone got any info on the shape or even the Landy?
Many Thanks,
Will

Jeremy,
am I right in thinking you have an MW? If so, I may have some bits left over from when I owned one. Maybe we could do a deal for the Champ wheels?

Hello all. this is my first time actually using HMVF instead of surfing it. I've been in the MVT (it was the MVCG when I joined !) for 37 years I think. Membership no 322. I've had various vehicles over the years. I started with a Jeep which cost £175 (wish they were still that now!) A couple of Bedford MWs, Hillman Tilly, Several Ex Military bikes, and I'm now on my second Champ. It's time to clear out publications, so in the next few days, I'll be flogging some off. I look forward to doing business with some of you.
Cheers
