A favourite one where I used to work was DGAF (usually just after getting a ticking-off).
Answers on a postcard please...
Don't give a fig!
How about:
CHAV ?
council house and vulgar?
apologies if you reside in a council house, I'm sure you know the tenants that I mean.

My favourite is not printable unless I want to get thrown off the forum. It's an acronym, much used by Gordon Ramsey. People will say it is an old Saxon word or other such nonsense. When in fact it came about during the late Middle Ages when the law of the land reflected the law of the Christian church. Those guilty of the henious crime of adultery were known to be:
Found Under Carnal Knowledge.
You live and learn eh?

Reason for that headline is because Venessa Feltz quoted in the paper last week:
Anybody who is not watching Big Brother is a moron.
What's Big Brother?
George Orwell 1984?
To the question: I may be stupid but....
How do I post a new topic on "Picture of the Week" when there ain't a new topic tag?

Not a book, just a poignant poem I came across.
the soldier fights for the hippie's rights to protest against that soldier
the soldier fights for the politician's rights to send that soldier to war
the soldier fights for the businessman's rights to make money
the soldier fights for the policeman's rights to arrest that soldier
the soldier fights for schoolchildren's rights to know about past soldiers
the soldier fights so that you may all sleep at night
the soldier fights for religion so that you may all believe what you wish
the soldier fights for his flag for his country for his life

On this day in 1876, Colonel Custer was beaten at the battle of the Little Big Horn. (I always feel there's a smutty association with that title.)
On this day in 1914, Austria/Hungary declared war on Serbia, beginning WW1. What an appalling day that was.
On this day in 1936, the Spanish Civil War started, in Morocco, with an Army revolt led by General Franco. He was still in power when I started going to the Costas.
On this day in 1940, The Luftwaffe sent 70 planes to bomb targets in South Wales, beginning The Battle of Britain.
On this day in 1944, the failed attempt to assassinate Hitler took place.
On this day in 1976 the raid on Entebbe took place.
I have tried to refrain from too much comment, over to you.

I have yet to buy it, that was the purpose of trying to find out. Here's a pic of my wife in her 1942 US Captains LBC uniform.

On this day in 1952, Eva Peron, died at the age of 33. Was she really the power in that troubled land?
On this day in 1945 Winston Churchill resigned as British Prime Minister. And went on to lose at the polls to Attlee.
And today a lot of school children think that Churchill is the puppet dog in an insurance advert.

There is a definitive image of the pith helmet for me, and that is: Rourkes Drift, Michael Caine, Stanley Baker, et al.
"At one hundred yards, on my command, volley present: FIRE!!!!"

The reason that I want to wear it is simply because, I like it. Let me try to explain more, I love this site, and I appreciate the sacrifice that members of the Armed Forces have given, and are prepared to give. My reason for getting involved here is an extention for my love of wartime community spirit.
Go back to the sixties and the release of The Beatles Sgts Peppers Album. A great deal of tosh was said about the defamation of the military uniforms that were worn. With that in mind, and with not a care to the so called purists, Is it legal, for me, or anyone else, to wear a military uniform, in a fancy dress sort of way, without incurring a charge of bringing said uniform into disrespect?
The sort of functions that I enjoy going to always have people of all ages, dressed up in various sorts of uniform, in order to give the venue a sense of authenticity.
My thanks to Lee Enfield, I would also much appreciate the comments from any veterans.

Can anyone tell me if I am allowed to wear a US Officer's Dress Uniform to functions like: The Jitterbug Ball? I have e-mailed Marlow White but, to date, have received no response. I am not, nor ever have been, in the armed forces.

Spotted at Beltring just before the Friday photoshoot.
I think it's the Great Leader of a clandestine organisation...
He tried to disguise himself when I got the camera out....
Is that a towel? Or is it a seat cover? ...............Also spotted at Beltring

During WW2 a German U-Boat was sunk by a truck. The U-Boat in question attacked a convoy in the Atlantic and then rose to see the effect. The Merchant ship it struck was carrying a fleet of trucks, one of which was thrown in the air by the explosion, landing on the U-Boat, breaking it's back.
The Royal Family are 100% German in origin: their original name was: House of Saxe-Coberg-Gothe. At the outbreak of war, the name Windsor was substituted. Queen Elizabeth 2 had a cousin tried and found guilty at Nuremburg.
The first bomb dropped on Berlin killed the only elephant in Berlin Zoo.
Around midnight on the 5th of June 1945, Pte C. Hillman of the US 101st Airborne Division, was en route to Normandy in a C47. Just before the jump Hillman checked his chute. He was surprised to see that it had been packed by the: Pioneer Parachute Company of Connecticut, where his mother worked. His surprise became a jaw-drop when he saw his mother's initials on the inspection tag.

That dodgy pink jeep, that's not Elvis making a clandestine visit by any chance, is it? It will, after all, be Private First Class, E.A. Presley's 30th anniversary on the 16th of August. Are the Bookies still taking bets? Seeing that Jeep, I'm tempted to punt a bob or two.

Today is the birthday of Alan Brooke 23rd July 1883- 21st June 1963
Brooke was Churchill's choice to lead Operation Overlord. And he would have, had Roosevelt not spat his dummy out, and insisted on Eisenhower.
Born into a wealthy family, Brooke was a people's soldier, he seemed to instinctively know what stuff his men were made of. http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/2WWbrookeA.htm

So no consensus as to whether or not Armstrong stepped on the moon. What about the subsequent "moon landings?" Do you think that the Americans were almost ready but knew that they wouldn't beat Kennedy's by the end of the decade deadline, so faked the first one, but the rest were for real? I mean how is the Appollo 13 flight, the one depicted in the film, explained?

No maybe about it, I am an official moron.
in I may be stupid, but......

Help, my thread's been hijacked by fellow morons. Amusing postings though, don't stop.
So can anyone please tell me how to post a picture, on the picture of the week forum, when there isn't a new topic tag?
