  1. Thanks Rob and Mav, Can you get a nice close up shot? If I can't borrow an original I might have to make up a blank to get cast so it would be good to get it right. Brass casting is not cheap, either you have an expensive mold made or cast in sand, which is expensive in time as the mould has to be remade for every pour and there is much more cleaning up of the part. I was going to do my own casting using white metal but I would much prefer brass.
  2. Hi All! My ex-Greek 105 is missing its carriage data plate, like most of them I would imagine. I believe the originals are cast from brass and are real hard to come by. I have been in contact with a guy in the states who could re-cast them. Now I don't know the price as that would depend upon quantity ordered. All I need to know at this stage is whether there is a demand for these plates. Please let me know if you are interested. If you have an original could you post a pic as I have noticed a few variations. Thanks! Here is one I found on the net.
  3. I managed to pick up (with great difficulty!) a M4A1 range quadrant from Stoneleigh for the US 105 howitzer. I can't find when this superseded the M4 quadrant. Can anybody shed any light on this? Thanks!
  4. I've got two or three different training pamphlets on the PIAT, one of which, if my memory serves me well, shows the very early twin leg support. The ICI reference to the explosive would make sense.
  5. Yes I've tried long and hard but got no hits. I know this booklet exists as the guy showed me a photocopy he did before selling it.
  6. Several years ago I was very keen on collecting anything to do with the PIAT (I used to put a free-ad in Gun Mart under the name "Mr PIAT"). Back then I just missed out on buying a booklet on the PIAT which was produced at the end of the war for the employees of the company who made it. Now, something in the back of my mind tells me that the company was ICI. Does anyone have a copy, or shed any light on this booklet? Any info would be most gratefully received.
  7. Hi all, Just a quick intro. I'm in my 50's (yep, time sure does fly) and my main interests are half-tracks and anti-tank weapons. I'm also a born again R/C flyer (my flying style is one of attrition). I'll try to post if I can answer questions in my field of knowledge. Cheers!
