Hi everyone, wondered if anyone happens to have or knows where I can get some information please on the Racal Javelin HF Communications gear. Its for a good friend of mine who is struggling to find anything. I believe there was a head unit that is part of it which I don't believe he's got but have been told it can be used without this by using some software, I don't know if this is correct or not. Thank you very much in advance for any help, regards Ian.:-)

Hi there, yes a brilliant little bit of kit, just connect an audio lead from the audio socket on the tester to an audio socket on your 320, 351, 350 what ever you may have, (this picks up your supply to the tester box) then connect your length of coax feeder to each bnc socket and it will light up the red lights if theres no breaks in the feeder. There is also a micro bnc for testing the lead that is used on the PRC 350. I carry one of these testers in the pouch on the radio bergen, a nice way of testing the cable instead of a multimeter, regards Ian.

Hi, just enquiring for a friend who's trying to trace his dad's old Austin Champ PUV 985F, initialy to see if it still around. His dad who has now sadly passed owned it back in the 70's, there appears to be no record of it being scrapped, thank you for any help in advance, please PM if preferred. Ian.

Hi there !
Im the chap you met at last years `War in the Vale` show. Did you manage to find out the info needed on tuning ?
Cheers,
Steve 82
Hi Steve, I just saw your message, I'm not sure if it was my mate Nick from Herefordshire who posted the original thread, I have'nt spoke to him for a few weeks as he's just recently moved house but I know he has SEM radio kit in his Volvo and a tuner he bought from w&p. I will try and contact him to let him know, many thanks, regards Ian.

Hi folks, first got into radio via 11 meter band in 1980, bought a Cobra 148 GTL DX from a friend of my parents. This friend then became my Father-in -law in 1986 after when we both took our "B" licenses, mine was G1PFC. Could`nt wait to get on to HF so did the morse exam down at Brynglass House Newport and became G0IAN ( waited about 6 months for call ) then taught my Father-in-law Jim the CW and he became G0JMH (unfortunately silent key 2 years ago now) Always have and still find it fascinating talking to someone the other side of the world with no delays, amazing and especialy when you are using a PRC 320 on a 2.4m whip, great fun !!!
de G0IAN, Ian.

Does anybody have any info on the Racal PRM 4031 please. I know the basic spec on the radio but unfamiliar with mic/headset types. Although the clansman uses the 7 pin similar socket obviously is`nt the same. Are they readily available, many thanks, Ian.

Apart from the toolbox, sump guard and a spot of fettling, the M20 is ready for A&E 2012.
I'm a whopping 15 miles into my 500 mile running-in period which was helped by my 10 year old daughter acting as co-pilot this afternoon.
All being well, the Jubilee weekend should see the other bits in place and a few more miles on the clock.
Dorchester, here we come!
Very nice Lee, a great feeling to hear it fire up and ride it for the first time. I expect you`re pillion is very pleased with your work and expecting an invitation to a certain event in a few weeks:-) Ian.

Well he's gone and done it! The cubedmeister has had the hair cut of the century! We are off to a friends wedding next weekend which is 40s themed and of course he needs to look the part for A&E.
What do you think?

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the heads up I dont know why i had not noticed that :red:.
It must be well out of date as we booked a GMC in late Jan and thats not showing.
An open question to "old hands" when do we get told where the camp site and RVP is.I keep looking on the "updates thread" but just seem to see comments rather that info......of course thats my stupidity again not for being in the right thread right time.....
thanks
Gary
Hi Gary, Pete has filled you in with the directions to the site, with the list, should`nt worry about not being on there, Jack will be updating it in due course. If you had a confirmation when you booked in all will be fine, if not just double check with Jack and I think Jack will be at the site from Wednesday on. Ian.:-)
-
Hi Gary, take a look here, armour and soft skin list, there are a few more to add to the list I believe, Ian.http://www.armourandembarkation.com/

Woo woo!!!!!!
Need a lie down in a darkened room!!!
Oh gawd what have I started? Wonder what Jacks going to wear???
Well Rosie...........I think JB will be wearing nothing but a smile and his whistle!!!!
-
sorry thats no good ,not correct wartime camouflage pattern,it should be made in the same material as Denison smocks, apparently Keith has Jacks permission to remove any items of non conforming clothing
Well, if Rosie is wearing non conformed camo pattern on the Saturday night, I`ll wear my little evening number:banana:

Larkspur HF Radio C11/R210 Complete set up
in HMVF Classifieds
Posted
Complete Larkspur setup consisting of C11 TX, R210 RX, Plus PSU, No 7 ATU, J1 Box, C Box, 2xMic/Headsets, all leads, Cables, Sliding tray and Runners ready to go straight into a Champ or set up at home. All transmits but the receiver wont start up into receive. The vibrator tries to kick in which is a surprise as it has run faultless over the years. I havent used it for over 12 months now so its typical of something suffering from lack of use.
