Hi Richard
No not this time, I have family coming over so I will not be able to make it, next year yes, I think its the year of the Emergency Vehicle, hoping we can get something to replace the Firefly for then.
Charlie will be going, as long as he is fit and well.
He loves his RB. I am working on a Import permit for these mid year, so we may have a few more coming over...

I have been busy with work/life so have not posted for a while, we now have this lovely Workshop we are working on.
Its one of the last of the Series 2a built. Hopefully we can have it done for when my father visits in Feb..
I dont have any history on this, it came from Victoria, so we think it may have been based down there, the inside of the firewall was like new with the red primer still as new, I have replaced alot of parts on it so far, new doors, repaired the cracks in the wings, nearly new tyres, I have a OEM front and rear new canvas set, new brakes parts, rebuilt axles, new steering parts, new exhaust, 500 plus pounds on nuts and bolts, door seals etc, the list went out of control.
I have decided to fit a genuine Bamford winch, just looks a little different, and I have a Larkspur wing box to fit, I have a clansman set and all the bits, so until I can afford a Larkspur , I might fit that , oh and I also have a original generator set for the rear.

Heres a few pictures of the only RB in Australia, owned by a friend of mine.

UN Fire ENGINE..... ( PRIMER )

Could somebody who owns a Wide Track Sankey measure up the size of the canvas, that covers the load area, and a indication of where the eyelets go, we need to have 2 sets made up ready for when ours arrive here in Oz..
Cheers
Justin

Looking at those shots, I can't help feeling if they are not uncommon down your way you should buy a hulk or two to strip for bits.
I'll bet panels that have been in Australia all these years will be better than some of those....
Gordon
Theres nothing wrong with the panels, the doors have been done, all she needs is a good rub down and a new coat.....
As for a hulk, iam on the look out for parts all the time, even wrecked FC are now going for silly money here.

Can anybody put a makers name to this type of reversing lamp??? was used by HCB Angus on the land rover fireflys, but must have been used on other vehicles..
-
Can anybody tell me who made the snatch plugs that were fitted to land rover, and i take it other vehicles?
I think it may have been classed as Mains Electrical Supply ( RAF ) and maybe it was made by crabtree, theres also a similar battery charger plug, i am also trying to find its maker too.
I would also like info on a PGM Thorpe TYP 843 reversing lamp.

Both these ships, are in a very poor state of repair, so much so one as just been decommissioned, the other will have major repair work done, that will take over a year.
These ships were 40 years before the RAN bought them, and spent more on updating them than the price of a new build ship. Surprise surprise the MOD have just decommissioned a bay class, and it lucks as if the RAN will be buying it or leasing it. A great ship, and only 4 years old, while there at it they should by RFA Fort George too......
Funny thing the RAN, just bought 4 new landing for $40 million, and they dont fit in the ships, so there scrapping them...

i would also like to add what i would call quirks (there is a word for this but it escapes me)in movies a bit like in star wars when the stormtrooper bangs his head.one thay springs to mind is in where eagles dare when burton and eastwood get on the motorcycle and sidecar to drive to the cable car station when they start off the bike has twin saddles when they get off the saddle has changed to a long single piece one.im just a bike nerd anyway .anybody got any other similar that they have noticed and chuckled to themselves.
and since when in the above film did they have helicopters???

They are suppose to be from the northern Yorkshire area, records were lost over the years that my great grandparents had, and the other half is from Neumunster Germany..
