  1. Thanks Tim (too)

My Garand and M1 carabine were deactivated in Belgium. I know it does match the French specifications too. They canot be made to fire again. So I'm wondering what they could do more. I saw that there were some combat reenactments at Beltring last years. And they used weapons. Maybe in the event area, there is no problem? Of course, we won't take them to the nearest village, nor wear them when in civilian clothes.

  2. Thanks Tim, but I have found the poles and the ridge. But the tent I had found is to small. I don't know what it is for a model, but it is only 7,2 feet long and 6,56 feet high instead of 9' X 9'

I thought I had made a great deal

So I'm now looking for the correct sized canopy to match my poles and ridge. :?

  3. and what about the replicas or deactivated weapons? Like US WWII weapons (US M1 carabine; Garand M1, Colt 1911, etc..). May I take them with me if I come to Beltring this summer? What about the machine guns mounted on truck?

  4. I bought it like this.

My other truck, the GMC, is marked:

6th armored div 777th Anti Aircraft Artillery battalion SV 33

So I can either dress like a normal GI or as a paratrooper.

But as I have the paratrooper equipement with M42 jump suit, I will have to change for a PIR regiment instead of the glider regiment. These were issued equipement as standard infantry soldiers.

  5. If you need measurements/ pictures I have one stashed away at a friends house and can get them for you in a couple of weeks time.

    Hi whistlinwolf.

Thank you for your answer. I would be glad if you can provide me with the measurements & pictures. I'm wondering if it will be difficult to rebuild the metal parts of the poles. Are the poles round or do they have facets?

  6. I have some questions about the US WWII small wall tents. I'm about to buy one missing the wood poles. I would like to know if there are more than the two big center poles (I mean, are there 4 corner spokes?)

I would be interested in pictures and mesurements for the required poles. Or if anyone knows where to buy repros.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone selling a Wall Small tent, please contact me!

  7. Well... my GMC and my Dodge are already restored. But I'm going to restore my Ben Hur trailer. Well, she's already in pretty good shape but will need paint. So I plan to part it out totally and check everything.

I'll take pictures of each steps, as usual, and then I may create something on the web with. But I'm also planning to make a website about US army in WWII. I will need time for that. :?

  8. To make a blog.

1: you have to subscribe to a blog generator/host. (free)

2: you access you administration interface with a password.

3: you upload pictures to folders

4: you create articles with online web editor, without any HTML knowledge required.

5: you can sort articles by category (i.e. Chassi, Motor, Body, Sheetmetal, Brakes, etc...)

6: visitors can leave comment on each article.

7: you can link to other website or forum wherever you like.

8: for movie files you can use a free files hosting server as http://rapidshare.de, with a link to each file on your blog.

I didn't look for a english language free blog hosting server at the moment, but for an exemple here is the link to a blog of a french guy who is restorating his Dodge WC52. You can follow it step by step. http://wc52.over-blog.com. This blog is made and hosted with Overblog, which is a french serveur.

    Parts selled by Midwest Military

Has you can see, mine has a hook to release the chain. So you can raise the bench to access the storage compartment. I don't know wich one is the original thing. I think I'm going to keep my system as it's usefull to raise the seats. And the rotary fixation I have on mine is different too. I noticed that these chains are often missing into the restored Dodge I have seen.

  10. I would like to know how were attached the bench chains at the back of WC 51 - 52 - 62 & 63 Dodge.

Here's what I have on mine:

Missing the loop that should come somewere here:

I would need pictures to get an idea of what I have to find. And of course, if you have the parts Iam missing, let me know!

    Thanks all.
