  1. Can anyone help me with a contact for Nelles Belles please? I am putting Salute to the 40's together at the Historic Dockyard Chatham on 18 & 19 September and have two areas that could be dedicated to farming and the Land Army girls. We have tractors, a thresher and other bits and pieces, and a mini-orchard. We may also have some shire horses and other animals so it looks set for a fun weekend. See www.thedockyard.co.uk or phone me on 01634-823821.
  2. One of the most unique 1940's shows in the UK. Set in the heart of a preserved naval Dockyard almost unaltered since the war years, this one has almost everything, including the bomb damage! Activities include real warships, concerts, Admiralty steam railway, river trips, Police Station, air raids, fire fighting, bomb disposal, British Restaurant, and much more. New for this year is the Yanks Zone complete with its own USO Concert Party and a 1940's style Street Market with pitches available at great rates. All Allied armed forces and home front participants are very welcome. As usual all pre-registered participants get free access to all the Historic Dockyard galleries and attractions including the newly restored Smithy that will house the wartime shipbuilding pictures by the celebrated war artist Sir Stanley Spencer. Pre-registered participants also have free camping from Friday through to first thing Monday. For more info and updates visit www.thedockyard.co.uk or phone 01634-823821.
  3. Well, after years of doing events and things with all sorts of military vehicle and reenactors I've become a member! I run the events and other special projects at The Historic Dockyard Chatham so my main contact with the MV world is through our Salute to the Forties, Armed Forces Day and Transport events as well as the Chatham Militaria Fairs. I don't personally own a military vehicle but do have several in the collection here including a Matador, GMC Bomb Truck, a couple of Land Rovers, a Champ, and a couple of dockyard Lister trucks. Our next big military vehicle event is Salute to the Forties on 18th & 19th September when we take the heart of the Dockyard back to the war years. Have a look at www.thedockyard.co.uk for details. All the best for whatever you do this season, Bill.
