  3. I think the J,B & Co.Ltd stands for J. Brockhouse of West Bromwich. This company built a variety of trailers.
  4. Many thanks to those who have replied. I have been on 12hr shifts hence the late reply. thanks to H Wade for the offer of measuring the Rougham caravan. I may try and get over there soon. These single axle caravans fascinate me as so little on their history is published and will soon be lost. I have written to the RAF Museum for any help and of course will report their findings here.
  5. Les, Thank you for replying this is exactly the type I am trying to find out . Can you confirm where Whitfield is ? I am wondering if this is the old No.618 ATC Gliding School caravan from West Malling ? Any information on this type of caravan including manufacturers plate gratefully received.
  6. Trying to find one to measure. Believed to be built by Car Cruisers Ltd of Hayes on a Straussler trailer. Any help please on manufacturer or plans. Real examples are said to be at North Weald,Old Buckenham and a gliding club in Kent/Sussex. Brockhouse built the twin axle airfield caravan of which plans are available.
  7. My name is Nigel and my interest is mostly in aircraft research, however I am very interested in RAF and USAAF vehicles and ground equipment. This was sparked by buying a second hand copy of Gerald Scarboroughs Airfix Guide No27 Modelling RAF Vehicles. One of my retirement plans is to build models of often forgotten airfield vehicles.
