  1. As long as your vehicle is pre 1975 you can use silver on black number plates and do not need to provide any paper work, as I mentioned previously I have just bought a pair on epay for my 1939 MW no probs, cost around £18 and have never had any problems with anorak plods with any of my vehicles all of which have silver on black plates.

  2. Now the Railway contract has come to an end I have my life back again :D

Tried a SMLE in the clips just to check for clearances and gave the front end a final coat of paint before starting to look a the spare engine block I found in the Cotswolds this morning.

This really did look like a boat anchor but after a good clean up its on standard bores is in good shape and is stamped with an MW prefix so looks like its going to be rebuilt as a spare unit. Likewise the crank is 20 thou undersize so should be able to use that as well.

  3. After visiting bovvy on Sat to see the Tiger in action.

I know the front tyres aren't quite correct but as I am still looking for a pair of tracgrips these will do for now.

  5. Things have been a tad quiet lately due to another railway contract taking up all my evenings and weekends but as today was glorious I needed some R&R playing with the MW as the withdrawal symptoms were getting bad :D

Two nice 1940 dated ones and a good 1945 example I'll probably let the 45 and one of the 1940 dated ones go along with a 1941 dated jack I already have as I'll only need one for myself.

Other than the trip to Bovy on Friday which was very interesting as there were a lot of early Bedford contract cards to look through all of the MW cards were copied for further research by the way :D.

Work is still in progress on the front wings and Aeroscreens thanks to bob the builder for those :D just these elusive engine panels to sort now :nut:

  7. Well had a great day at Bovy and managed to copy all the MW contract cards that they had there inc the very early ones for the prototypes and ambulances, although the series of cards is incomplete it made very interesting reading.

There is also a lot of OY,OX,QL etc if anyone should like to research their vehicle contract NO.

Many thanks to Jonathon and gang for their help with copying etc.

  8. What a day I'nt shed !!! blowing a gale tin rattling and hissing down, so spent most of my time fettling the front wings.

    100_5852.jpg

Then started on making the wooden steps.

Need to round the top edge on three sides what do you think Maurice ? much better than those post war add on chequer plate things ;).

  9. Just to let you know that I'm off down to Bovy next Friday the 12th Feb to have look through what info they may have, should be interesting, a number of MW owners have contacted me and I'll see what I can do in the time permitted, anyone else who may wish their vehicle records looked up can still pm me.

    regards RR.
