The more i study the pic the more it loks like my truck ? Coincidence ??? i have mounting holes for the same .... Whats a TUUAM and whats a ARFAT ? and is this something obtainable ? id like to really restore my truck now to original , but theres lots of bits missing , even on the wall behind him i have mounting points and cables for kit , also under the bench seat thers threaded holes and brackets for stuff ?? Any help with the layout much appreciated . its coming together slowly . Cheers;)

Hi Sorry been a while since i checked the forum . Found out my truck is the BATES comms system . I have had a lot of help from Cornishbloke who has the meterological sister truck to mine , he has REME contacts and a lot more knowledge than me . I have scored a fair bit of kit to reinstall , still learning as i go . any manuals or reading material most appreciated ? Would be amazzing to find the computer stuff you talk of ? have you any pics of such equipment ? Good luck

sorry forgot to add year .its a 1994 model . so it is legal to carry people in the rear on the side facing bench seats without seat belts ? the Army obviously didnt need them either . cheers

Hi Is it legal to carry passengers in the rear of a x Military Landrover 110 soft top fitted with side bench seats ?? Or has there got to be Lap seat belts installed ? cheers

thats what i have , he was more concerned i had a photo ID ? maybe he thought i was a terrorist ?? . it was funny seeing them approach the vehicle very cagedly mind with hand torches flikering everywhere . :shocked:

maybe if the Goverment released x military use vehicles for sale in the UK with Registrations the police / buyers / mot station / Insurance companies wouldnt have such headaches ............thats my point , simple common sense .

well thats not really associated with the reason for the pull over , just the police being pendantic over details . it will also be wrong again soon , as i will be selling the house after restoraton work this year and spending time overseas , then who knows where , so in reality a fixed address doesnt work for me .

yes i agree , the new licence really is just another form of a ID card scheme , soon i guess they will microchip all babies from Birth and barcode our forheads . :undecided:

The vehicle was booked in and fully insured on the chassis number , i also had all the stuff from Vosa with me in case , i think it was more the New Zealand seargent not totally convinced of our bizzare system of registering military vehicles , he was ok about it in end but not totally happy about it all , im sure he will go and check , especially as i told him i will be doing it again soon with my RB44 . lol :shocked:

It wasnt expired , but did have my old address on there ,that i didnt think to update when i moved house . the Copper was a New Zealander and was quite keen , just doing his job i guess . It Annoys me that VOSA cant come up with common sense and issue Number plates up front , this would benefit the police more .

Just to say , i thought it was bound to happen , driving a vehicle with no number plates or tax just to get it MOTed before VOSA will issue you with a Registration number , and it did . Got pulled over by the police , and had to spend 20 minutes in back of police car explaining , then they wanted to see all my driving licences etc and actually followed me home , had to produce my passport , driving licence and all the documents from MOD ? They didnt charge me but wants nmme to update my old paper licence to a new PHOTO id plastic one and will be round in 2 weeks to check ive done it ? all good fun . anyone else had similar troubles .

Hi Robin To be honest i sent several emails to differing departments, and they were all linked from the MOD website . If you go on the MOD website and search about eventually your find the disposals people and their email address , most of it related to property and things i cant imagine , all very bureuacratic , so i dont know exactly which department dealt with my enquiry in the end and posted me the document ? do the same as me and hopefully somebody helpfull can help . sorry to be a bit vague , but i was chancing it when i tried and i thought i would get in trouble more than get the result i was after .

Great news I looked all over the MOD website and found a possible dept that could help , something on Procurements and disposals ? I sent them a courteous email with all the information i have on the vehicle and RESULT , they have sent me a nice official document stating the vehicles service date , type and use . im quite pleased as its confirmed as a " Truck Heavy FFR HT BATES 4x4 " which makes it a genuine comms / artillery vehicle .

im getting no results from DVLA ? i dont think they are too interested without the MOD 654 release docs , Think ill hassle Withams , see if they can send a duplicate or something ? what does a completed form look like ? ive heard they arent very clever looking documents ? :-\

cheers guys will look at options and costs , esiest so far is just transfer a number plate and chassis plates from a breaker vehicle

Landrover 110 and Reynolds Boughton 44

Cant understand why i didnt get them with the vehicles anyhow ? Im struggling to get them road registerd , DVLA have asked me to fill out a V5 /55 registering a vehicle form , first box asks for registration number ? they aslo want proof of Insurance , MOT and fees for registration and road tax . Im not even sure what MOT i require for a soon to be Expedition vehicle / camper ? and do i drive it without plates to the MOT station ? it has been suggested its easier to transfer a number plate from a broken for spares vehicle that was allready road registerd ? is this legal ? its been over 4 weeks allready and i still cant use them , bahhhhhhhhhhh cheers

Cheers Iain Ill get some close ups , im getting lots of info from all angles , really appreciate everyones input . I may end up buying loads of kit , but hopefully i can sell it on if its incorrect . post pics soon
