Hi all, I'm Nigel from Northamptonshire and I drive a 1969 ex Bundeswehr VW181 (Trekker).

Do any of you guys still own your 'Ilti'?

 

I am a new owner of one and would be interested to meet other owners, maybe arrange a line up at some shows and also find out how many are in the UK? Someone told me 12.

We used to use them in the ACF back in late 80's and 90's, fantastic weapon and I loved it. They were indestructible unlike the L98's (cadet version of the SA80) which used to jam at every opportunity and lose magazines in the middle of an exercise

Well I managed to fix the Eberspacher, traced it to a loose fuse inside a relay so I'm nice and toasty now:-D

Painting is almost all done now

Mine stopped working suddenly so I'll have to have a look when I have time.

Managed to do passenger side

And the rear

I'm quite pleased with the shade, it's quite close to the original.

I've only done 1 coat with a roller and brush and it's come up up ok. It's no show winner.....more like a 10 foot paint job :-D

Just the other side and the interior to finish now.

I'm looking for some 15" off road tyres and just ordered some satin paint in a darker shade to try and obtain a more "factory look"
