  1. I got my Lightweight chassis from http://www.richardschassis.co.uk.They claim to be accurate in design to the original (some replacements are not). They are galvanised as standard, but you can always paint it to look original. The old chassis had patches upon patches, as most seem to by now!
  2. Greetings all.I have been digging around for some history on my 1980 ex-RAF Land Rover airportable.I have a copy of a record sheet, and wonder if anyone can shed any light on the thing please.Under the column heading 'TXN' are various dates accompanied by either 'VBP' or 'VBT'.What does this mean (probably something boring I suppose!)? There is a unit ID number (AO 801A) and the vehicle is listed as serving with 10 FDWKSP which I assume means field workshop, and 1 SQN RCT.I cannot find anything meaningful on t'internet regarding these, anyone know much about them or where to look? I am in the middle of a full restoration of the beast, and it would be nice to finish it accurately. Thanks for any info!
  3. I suppose so! At least it's fairly easy to work on,just requires a little mechanical aptitude rather than a degree in electronic nonsense.
  4. ...from Tim (plungefrog) in north Scotland! It's rather wet and windy here at the moment, which is why I'm keeping warm indoors typing this instead of working on the MV.The beast in question is an ex-RAF Land Rover Lightweight, which I am rebuilding on a new galvanised chassis.I know a galv chassis reduces originality, but believe me the original chassis is well and truly past it! After I've finished the Landy it will be my daily drive, and I shall start saving for the next project.Methinks a nice Dodge would be interesting. We shall see!
