  1. Right, the VIN number is;SKFDJM2BGDT109657. I am going to try and put pictures in but fear it will not work. Here goes, no, I was right, it doesn't work. How do I put pictures in, please. Accept that I am a moron. I think it would be fun to have a Willys jeep but I wouldn't be able to steer it, would I?!
  2. Thank you so much. No, I've been reading about the agricultural Autosteer system too. While if you saw me driving when I'm tired, you might think it a good idea, our system is not related! I don't think it's been cold enough for anything to freeze yet but will keep that in mind. I will take some pix tomorrow and upload them for your delectation (my God, Carruthers, what the ..... is that?) I will also ring the Bedford people. All help has been much appreciated. Olga
  3. Hi, I am a complete imposter since I do not have a military vehicle nor am I ever likely to. However, I am an elderly lady about to tear her hair out at the roots because I can find nothing, but NOTHING out about my dear Bedford TL (1984 - too new??) power steering. It has been suggested that it might have a military adaptation. It is not hydraulically powered which I understand, but air powered. It has Autosteer written onthe steering wheel boss and there are five air pipes with Tippex markings (always cheering) on them suggesting it came from scrapyard possibly. Anyway, whatever,it has given up the ghost and while my husband can drive the lorry without power steering, I really struggle. It has an extra air cylinder under the front of the lorry cab and the five pipes from the steering wheel seem to go into a loom and run along the chassis member. The fifth pipe does not seem to go anywhere it is just hanging. The steering almost works sporadically. Do any of you lovely guys recognise this system at all. I feel it could be off almost anything and the suggestion that we just get a second hand hydraulic system and get it fitted is a no hoper since we already had another engine put in after my husband didn't believe me when I said that there was no oil in it!!!!!!!!!! Money is what we'd call a bit short. Scrap the lorry? No chance, she's great. Any thoughts at all will be really, really appreciated.
