Mark,
I have 3 but they are all very rusty and would need a lot of metal work?

Brooky,

Phil,
Sorry don’t know the cable thickness – there is no cable with my unit, I may be able to find out.
I am not sure about if every Munga was fitted with a winch – I understand that they would have originally all come from the factory fully equipped. However if they were fitted with a parachute hook then it was not possible to fit the winch and bits under the seat.
My Munga did have a parachute hook but I have decided to rebuild it without and fit the accessorizes as I feel it will be a better presented vehicle?
I have attached a picture off the equipment list.

Dads been round tonight , so i showed him the forum( they dont have a comp). was a good couple of minutes before he realised the munga he was looking at was his! Bless him, he is 70 now , he said it looked better in the pics ....:coffee:
He told my mum when he went home and she said "well did you not recognise all the junk in the garage"....
Why not buy him a computer for Christmas?

Brooky,
My Munga 8 did originate from the yard nr. Kimbolton. I purchased it from a third party who purchased it along with another vehicle some years previous.
The yard was run by a gentleman by the name of Sid Starling. Sid (Sadly now no longer with us) was the local scrap man and general wheeler dealer, who I believe originated from the East end?
I have been searching for photo’s for some time without success, so if you have any I would be very pleased to have a copy.
When you visited the yard did you make a purchase of anything?

Are you sure it was a model T fire engine?
-
No but can do some this week

These are for 2 over centre clips that hold a handle for a Tirfa winch, the winch is stored in the seat box under the driver’s seat.

The bracket on the RHS you were asking about is there one or two?
-
I have to remove the LHS panel with the lead on it!!!!....
Looking hard at your pictures cannot see the lead?
Will
-
Was the lead loading either side of the bonnet?
Did you remove the lead? If so how?

Hello,
Hoping I get mine done by next Christmas - I have been on it 5 years already and had to replace floor in the front and the back, could only get 2 front wings so had to make the rest.

Hello,
So when do you think it will be on the road?
Do you know where it came from originally?

Hello,
How long have you had the Munga?
Did you have to do much welding?
Does the engine run?

Looks good you are way ahead of me with your restoration and I have to do jobs round the house this weekend!
I had to shorten my spade handle by about 150mm to make it fit correctly.
What colour have you gone for? Is it Nato Green or another shade? It looks a good colour.
I may have some idea on the brackets on the RHS if Andrew cannot help.

Phil,
Thank you - I have 2 Munga’s both 8 seaters, the one pictured here is a 1966 German unit last used as a cable layer in Göttingen (1 ½ Hrs south of Hannover), I have owned this one for about 6 years.
I am sure that the spade pictured here is the correct one for the vehicle.
